I've just read this entire thread! So £10 to meet AC and Turnipe so they can tell you what a great job they are doing. Im off to cloud cuckoo land. Good luck anyone who stumps up and meets them. I love CFC which is the main reason not been posting much. I didn't think things could get any worse then read the threads tonight. we as a club are F****d if Zorro Moondog and co actually believe what's been said. Good luck lads!! All the club have to say is SORRY WE MADE MISTAKES! All you get is excuses.

Steady on, you're not as daft as that surely.

The meeting isn't about being taken in all gooey eyed it's about those responsible for the "questionable enterprise" explaining themselves and addressing fans serious concerns.

You say you've read the entire thread, you will therefore be aware we've been waiting 8 months for answers to our questions. If a tenner (in reality about £3 if you are happy with a pint & pie and peas) is the price to pay then some of us care enough to stump up,

If others prefer to stay behind the keyboard that's their choice

Hurry up and get it sorted Ashley, if numbers are to be limited put me down.

It should be clear to the handful of supporters that Nigel brought together, that it would be inappropriate to raise and discuss some of the topics under the format that Ashley has proposed. If Ashley's keen to move the topic forward, he needs to restrict the numbers to less than 25 and introduce a couple of directors who have no financial interest in the DC, say Chris Breeze and Phil Taylor.

With regards to a couple of things that Ashley has posted either directly, or indirectly through Zorro. Firstly, the source of the funding and secondly, the statement that Sutcliffe has not taken a wage for 3 months. Both statements totally contradict what I was told in a meeting on 05/08/16.

Edit - I will also attend.

Forever A Spireite has a point. Despite Moondog's protestations, it does seem that there are people on here who are beginning to sound a little self righteous because they've spoken to Ashley Carson.
There does also seem to be a common thread developing with those same people adopting a 'he told me himself, over a latte, so I have no reason not to believe every word he says'.
Stories that people aren't taking wages and are putting the equivalent of above-average annual salaries into floundering businesses are, at best, questionable. That AC and CT have set up their own version of Dragon's Den is laughable.
Whilst I commend the good work, isn't it vital that we all remain totally sceptical, now more than ever?

Perhaps self important rather than self righteous

I will try to reply to you as you may feel I maybe one of the self righteous.
I have NOT been taken in by AC or CT by their replies. I have asked lots of questions of which I have received replies. Don't think for 1 minute that my guard has dropped or others, we have people involved amongst the self righteous that know their pant size & times they have coffee breaks but we do need to try to sort out the tangle of accusations, rumours and replies.
Personally I feel that questions that have been asked have helped establish that the club itself had problems within. I also hope that the club will have taken notice and put safeguards in to protect any future mistakes happening. Maybe we have stopped or at least stabilised the 'rot' until the next issue arises.

I am my own man, I don't follow and I can certainly form my own opinions.

What a few of us have tried to do is arrange an 'open' meeting with representatives from CFC, the PPP & fans.

AC has now agreed and suggested a meeting with up to 25 concerned fans to attend. I welcome that meeting which in my eyes is just the first step.
I agree with Mike that it would not be in the benefit of the club if we were allowed to ask certain questions that have not been raised publicly before, amongst a larger audience. Therefore it may prove to be right to hold a second meeting at a later date so that 'delicate' questions could be asked.

I still think that the word SORRY would go along way in recovering the bad feelings & the damaged relationships between fan & club.

Unfortunately not everyone is going to be happy with some of the replies AC has made, so what do you want him to do next? I have never liked to think I was part of a witch hunt, my name is 'mud' in the boardroom and I am now known as a 'poo stirrer'

Should we ask the club to arrange a free public flogging of AC & CT at the Proact before the game against Wolves U21? Maybe we should make the game free entry, supply free beer and pie & peas.

We really need to find conclusions to investigations, I have other information which wouldn't be good for the club if it was released. I have more information where I haven't raised it or discussed it with the club and I see that it would be pointless to now mention it to AC.

An olive branch has been offered which I think we should accept. We should try to move on. One thing that the club will have learnt is that the fans are not stupid and shouldn't be treated as. The club will be scrutinised more than before and I think they understand that now.

It should not have been down to the fans to expose Bingham or Rafflegate, but I don't expect any forthcoming apology or statement from the club on these 2 issues.

Regarding the 25 (maximum attendees), either Nigel or myself will keep an eye out for those people who wish to attend and keep the names so that we don't have too many. First come first serve.

Chris, I think you've answered your own question. Why should AC answer questions on here relating to the PPP if it is separate from CFC?

I think most fans understand that there are a few supporters who want CT to resign, however I don't think that will ever happen whilst DA is in charge. Ashley has sent an invite for up to 25 people to meet up and ask questions. He's riled a few of you with stating a £10 charge for the privilege with a beer thrown in and pie and peas. I will make 1 and pay the tenner and ask any question that needs asking.

I know where you are heading with the uncut version of my summary and post I shared with you and a few others. There are points in my summary that you also know we have to be careful of. AC answered questions that I raised where the information had not been in the public domain and had been presented to us from elsewhere. AC could have kicked off there and then if he wanted. I don't want to lose our contacts within the club when we may need to ask further questions.

I don't think we will ever get an explanation from the club regarding Bingham. I believe a mistake was made by CT relying on the recommendation of an agent, a scout and LS and that's all we will end up with.

Rob

Rob.

First of all this forum discusses all things CFC, and as CT and LS have done everything possible to associate their enterprise with the Club it's fair game.

Besides, Ashley chose to appear on a thread covering the topic.

Anyway, I'm pleased to hear you're gonna be there.

I intend to raise a number of issues and I'd like you to simply confirm or deny if the answers given tally with what you've been told.

Fair enough?

One other thing, too.

Will Carson confirm that no attempt will be made to limit who attends, what's asked or threaten legal action?

Thanks, and put my name down.

While Ashley Carsons olive branch is a welcome gesture, if the club won't first of all admit the mistakes made (and admit they are mistakes), secondly be open and honest (Freelanders post suggest that this is still a difficulty) and stop viewing fans who expose such issues, as a problem. The actions of "officials" not actions of fans have caused all of this.
If this doesn't happen, I fear it's only an exercise in spin that will allay some, but certainly not all suspicions.

I assume given the coffee meeting reference you are referring to me, if Ashley Carson says something that appears to be incorrect I've remained willing to challenge him and always will, latest example asking him to verify his ealier claim that G'boly hasn't got an agent, he's since come back and said he was misinformed and he does have one.

Supporting a proposal for an open meeting with fans doesn't for a moment mean any scepticism has been lost, it just means support for the attempt to speak and listen to fans

Glad to hear you are making one Chris
Ask what questions you want and I will confirm what I can but I won't confirm or deny anything that could be seen to be libellous or get's any fan or contact into bother. I think from your wording that you would like to ask the type of questions that Mike was worried about being brought up in an 'open' meeting.

I don't think AC would stop anyone from attending, he has not mentioned anything on that score.

Regarding legal action, if a question is asked and the wrong answer is given and the questioner can prove that there is a cover up then no legal action can be taken as long as the information has been supplied legally.

But if a false accusation is made, then it's up to AC & CFC if they want to take further action.
The meeting is open to the Derbyshire Times and I hope they attend, but word of warning. The DT can produce word for word questions and answers which could appear in the public domain. I will stick to facts and not heresay.

Unlike some, I try to choose my words carefully and post information that I have received. When people start by consistently aiming the questions and accusations at certain individuals it opens doors. Words such as 'mafia', 'crooks', 'back handers' & 'back pocket' should not be used in any public forum under any circumstances when debates are taking place. Despite several warnings, some fans choose to keep banging away. I could suggest that everyone researches 'character assassination' because I fear a few are sailing close to the wind if legal action was to be brought against fans.

I'm all for attending a meeting and for the fans to ask any questions they would like an answer for, but I can't guarantee that every question would be answered on the night without the CFC panel researching. I would like to think that we will receive honest answers but it's up to an individual to accept the answer, believe it or discard it. That's the problem we all have.

It would be nice to go along and come away with a clean slate but sometimes you can't always have what you wish for.
Hands held high with apologies and mistakes having been admitted, would go along way with lots of fans.

Rob
