Trust me, we voted for it, I've got a message saying that me of all fans shouldn't have a dig at the club about it because we can't afford to lose the premier league funding.

Why you 'of all fans'?

Presumably because I'm one of the more level headed/listen to both sides of the story kind of fan. My thought is if I'm worried and saying I won't go to these games, then they really should be worried that 'me of all fans' is at this point.

Spurs have now declined to take part in this competition.

I'm with CFC on this one, for once.

IF the premiership money is significant and IF it is a 1 year experiment, then try it.
Presumably CFC's initial reticence was the same as Pompey's - that it is the start of a slippery slope that will lead to Premiership reserve teams being admitted into the FL.

CFC's top negotiating team will, I'm sure, always fight tooth and nail to resist such a change.

To not know who is even competing in it at this stage is indefensible.

Here's Harvey in March saying how the competition had thrived under JP sponsorship and how he was looking for a new sponsor, now he says it's in decline (a lie) and he's still found no sponsor

I can't work out whether that is a clumsy attempt at irony or just you living up to your name.

Arsenal the latest to decline the invite.

Arsenal the latest to decline the invite.

Per The Star yesterday:
It is also understood Spurs and Chelsea are concerned about scheduling clashes with international breaks while it is believed Arsenal are happy with the current number of fixtures played by their youth teams.
Manchester United and Liverpool are still thought to be weighing up their options, but the pair are believed to be leaning in favour of not participating while Manchester City have made a decision but are not prepared to make it public.
If all six of the sides decide to pull out it would be a blow for the Football League, who had already attracted criticism from clubs and fans worried about the possible introduction of Premier League B teams into the EFL, with top-flight teams able to field five players older than 21 in any EFL Trophy fixtures.
Everton, Stoke and West Brom have initially said they will take part while it is understood Southampton - who won the competition six years ago - are planning to participate.

Farcical is not in it. You can see the whole competition this season being scrapped at this rate. Hopefully.
