The thing that's ruined English football is one thing & one thing only.........MONEY!! Players on ridiculous amounts of money...at 20-25 years old...a privilege is given to them on a plate & not earnt....how many English managers are there in the premier league?? Decent ones!! 75% of premier league teams are made up of foreign players....how many true English superstars are there?? None!!

Thierry Henry was right on the first episode of the Euros when he said a team with togetherness, team spirit will win the tournament.......Italy v Wales final

England should take note how these teams conduct themselves & how they are managed....look at Coleman, it's like he's made all that team best friends...it's awesome.

Unfortunately we will pay someone £5m a year & lead us to another disaster.....you can't manage over inflated egos...that every player playing for England has!! Drop the egotistical players & pick championship players!!!

Much like the current Premier League Champions, maybe everyone else has got it wrong and Ranieri and Coleman have the answer, How about making them joint managers of England, it'd work wonders!
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

Is it me , but why should Wayne Rooney and other senior players be consulted on the next manager? Evidently they are unimpressed by the quality of candidates, well im unimpressed by the quality of players in tournament football, would it not be better if players concentrated on their tecniques or actually studied opponents instead of letting the country down every 2 years.

Rumours that Beckham has been asked???? "They're white, minty , sometimes orange, very small and fit in your pocket..... "No David, we're talking about TACTICS!"

Exactly, the FA had the right man in Capello, but the wrong squad of totally inept prima Donna ass holes ruling the roost under him.

his subsequent record with Russia suggests that for whatever reason he isn't cut out for international management.

How about the next England manager being banned from picking Premiership players because the ones we have are paid enough to not care a jot.

To them it is a few weeks in a 5 star hotel and time to catch up with the latest new tunes.

Apparently they were invited to go to a war memorial whilst in Chantilly and nobody wanted to go...

The hammers are good at pointing out if a player isn't fit to wear the shirt - they should enjoy this season.

the bigwigs at the fa decided it was too much of a trek for the players to undertake.

Dave Allen says she needs more than that to break even.

Go on then, I'll bite. Why wouldn't you want them to visit a war cemetery/memorial? It might make them reflect on the huge sacrifice a generation of Britain made so they could enjoy the freedom we have today, and maybe, just maybe instil a little bit of national pride before an England game?

I thought it wasn't that they didn't want to go, it was some useless no doubt very well paid idiot in the backroom staff deciding the poor darlings would be tired by the trip, or some such nonsense

Wow. Just wow.

They played only 4 days before the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, where almost 20,000 enlisted men died on the first day. I took 2 minutes out of my morning to follow the silence at 07.28 - but maybe that's the military history of my family that influenced my decision.

Didn't want to go or too much of a trek? Shame on the bigwig who made that decision...

"Otis" is still working for the FA? I think he just wandered past his pay grade on that one...

I find goku post incredulous . I'm astonished by it.
If that post Is the general attitude of today's youth, I weep for the future of our nation, and also feel deep deep sadness that the loss of life by our young men from 100 years ago, and perhaps even more so in the later fight against Nazism, was utterly wasted. We may as well have given up and spent 100 years under the leather jackboot for all these silly kids care. Just what does our education system teach them?
This is a lad who said he cares nothing for politics, didn't ever bother voting, but bellyaches that the referendum voted leave. Oh my word is this what we will be handing the future of our country to?

To quote the Spanish philosopher, poet and novelist George Santayana "those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it"

I hope the young man had been drinking, and that post wasn't his real view/opinion.
