Absolutely magnificent piece, Graham.
The DT renaissance goes from strength to strength.
And for what it's worth I believe there's another 'S' word causing disillusionment amongst Town fans.
'Suspicion'.

The club can't cure the problem without admitting they've got one

Will our man have to buy a ticket and enter under a hood?
Away games are obviously out of CFC's remit.

I'd imagine they've been banned from press conferences, player and management interviews and the press box for home.
I'd guess they are free to pay for match tickets and attend games, and write reports like you and I could.
They wont get press releases(directly anyway) although currently the Star do, and its the same parent company (next on the banned list??)
The latest DYT piece, summing up recent events, and calling for an apology is for my an olive branch that the club should recognise and accept. I'd strongly doubt the DT would have run half the stories recently they have, had they still be on the inside of the football club.

At times you've got to laugh at the sheer naivety of certain individuals.
Nearly every week now, for the best part of a couple of months the names of Turner & Sutcliffe, coupled with the DC & CFC have featured heavily in the Derbyshire Times. Those involved are absolutely desperate for a good news story. Yet instead of pushing the Ernie Moss presentation through as a matter of urgency to get the story out within days of Ernie's benefit match, someone ignored the subject, allowed it to fester for the best part of 5 weeks and in doing so, upset the family involved. How long would the subject have been ignored had it not been for the intervention of the Derbyshire Times and users of this messageboard?
I'm afraid it's another subject in a long list that reaffirms the opinion that the club is leaderless.

I think part of the problem is simple PR. Take a private company. They will often put out statements to sooth and keep the perception wheels well-oiled. The Moss Charity thing - if true is poor spin. A simple comment could have been that the day was successful and a decent 4 figure amount was raised. We have invited xyz to a special presentation and add out own contribution in for good measure.
