What has roy done to kane?..this is a player who should have started alongside vardy..the 2 best english strikers playing alongside each other..so simple so obvious, but 2 weeks before for some reason he plays them wider than normal in a 3 and shoehorns rooney between them in a formation alien to us.We craved a winger to supply out wide and in reality our set of strikers lacked any height to change things a bit, im not his greatest fan but andy carroll on the bench was an option we should have had if we had taken wingers..henderson milner wiltshire should have never been taken.

Flavour of the month as were the other Spurs players.

Lured into positivity by continually getting easy qualification groups. Hopefully we'll drop down the rankings and actually have to qualify properly

Something to be said about the spurs lads, they collapsed as a team towards the end they may have been mentaly and physically shot going into this add into the mix the amount of liverpool players who were awful this year and wiltshire being a crock barkley having a nightmare year , joe hart and stirling having poor seasons and its hardly surprising ...vardy apart we had a team of losers.

Add to that the decision to reinstate the two most abject players from the group phase, Kane and Sterling, back into the starting eleven in the knockout stages, was simply mind boggling!

Bang on.

So Woy plays a weakened team to give his players a rest. Mucks it up by getting us into the stronger half of the draw. The players had too long between games and lost any momentum they had. Then, as you say, he puts in the two players that were shot of confidence in a game against a team brimming with confidence and determination with England fans in the stadium who had jeered them off and surely would do again if there were any similar performances (players he'd signalled he'd lost confidence in himself by pulling them off at half time in the Wales game). Then he puts one of them, Kane, back on free kick duty - Jesus. Then keeps playing fumble fingers Hart without giving Forster a chance to prove himself in the game before (the one where he made loads of other changes to rest the team/try out the squad). Then makes his first substitution, taking off one of our few performers in the tournament, Dier, for half-fit Wilshere (who all and sundry warned shouldn't be taken unfit, along with Henderson, when he'd promised not to do such a thing). And leaves the ineffectuals on, including "traps a ball with shins made of bouncy power balls" undroppable Rooney (when everyone howled out for him to be dropped). Puts one of only two players who play with confidence - Vardy - on too late. Then puts on the other - Rashford - with hardly any time left to do anything (though he tried). Then after losing, reads from a prepared script.

Complete and utter stupid ㅜㅇsser.

I really like Kane but he was very poor tonight. Insistent on him taking the set pieces, his delivery was woeful. He had a decent chance with a free header towards the end but it was half hearted and straight at the keeper at a comfortable height. He's shown far more than that over the last couple of seasons. I agree regarding Carroll.

Replace those three with Carroll Townsend and me

Quite a lot in that on top of the poor tactics and unbalanced team.

It's a sad night for English football. To be honest I hope we never qualify for a tournament for the next 20'years. As for Rooney, Sterling , Hart ( I would rather have Barry Roche) please never play for England again. 3rd rate nation.

I'm absolutely fuming! Twelve hours of work stretching before me with very little sleep, rain belting down, trains packed like sardine tins, and a cold to boot. I'm a stupid mug. Who lobotomised me when I wasn't looking?!

Can anyone suggest a sport where I might get even some minuscule pleasure from?

Too ponderous and immobile at this level IMO as for folk touting Vardy, his pace isn't quite as effective against quicker players at this level and top teams aren't daft enough to leave space in behind for him to run into therefore nullifying his threat. Just my opinion though.

England needs to give up trying to play Tiki-Taka, it's not in our footballing DNA and never will be.

I miss the slightly better days of 4-4-2. Having wingers who could actually cross a ball, having a big target man bullying defenders to supply a nifty number 9 who can slot goals away regularly at international level and against top sides. A good defence with wing backs who can actually defend and who's primary function isn't to attack all the time, and having proper beasts at centre back who can intimidate strikers, not these ball playing lightweights who get bullied by strikers from the English championship.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!

No passion in playing for the country anymore sadly, plus the fact none of em are good enough either. Made to look good by their foreign club mates week in week out, can't cut it on the international stage. I'm not sure any really give a toss, can just go back now to their 200k a week and fake-titted fake-tanned botoxed wives and girlfriends, put their feet up in their 2million quid houses, take the lambo for a spin and wait for the overhyped premier league circus to start up again
