Lost any dwindling respect for hodgson after that pathetic excuse for a press conference.
Face the blimey music man, that was all part of your job.

Agree, a decision he'll come to regret, especially as it came across as pre-prepared with a totally inappropriate choice of words given the performance

The writing was on the wall from the very first game, when Rose got caught ball-watching vs Russia; England should have had that game won by HT, but didn't.

This England team has frailties and I'm not sure that's 100% applicable to the manager.

That said, if Rashford (and maybe Vardy) started tonight, I feel that result could have been different. The Icelanders were stubborn under aerial bombardment, but susceptible to strong, direct running. Hodgson however, brought Rashford on when it was far too late and that is his fault.

I wonder how much Rooney has left to offer, too.

I've worked in top academies, mate, and I can tell you that from a very young age they are pampered to the point where someone would probably wipe their ass if they asked.

These young lads walk around the training ground like they are gods. Arrogant, ignorant, dim, and overly concerned about clothes, cars, birds, and how they look....not one of them could fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

As I've tried to say many times, the vast majority of players, despite what they say to the media, do not care about the fans.

Utter shambles, i gave up watching england after the world cup as i figured if they couldnt be ar5ed to play then i couldnt be ar5ed to watch. Why oh why are we so utterly inept when it comes to knockout games? Was hoping the new blood might help but no, same old bottle jobs. Disgraceful!!!

I think it's a myth that we have actually ever been any good in the European championships, in fact I'm led to believe we have only ever won one knockout game at the euros ever and that was on penalties.

I think Iceland showed fantastic spirit and were very well drilled and organised.
But I thought their lack of footballing quality was obvious for all to see, lots of awful passes etc.
I think a decent quality side will beat them reasonably comfortably.

No the writing was on the wall before the championships when he selected an inappropriate squad by

Taking unfit players in wilshere and Henderson
Taking players that haven't played hardly for their clubs this season and either injured or out of form in Sturridge and sterling
Not having any leadership in the squad
Selecting players on reputation rather than actual performances
Not having any wingers in the squad apart from a player who is woeful ie sterling.
Poor tactics what the **** is Kane doing taking free kicks and corners, wouldn't mind if he could take one.

Poor squad selection
Failed to find a proper fixed starting 11 in the friendlies before the tournament which led to him not knowing his best 11 when here and still rotating it around
Failing to play the correct players and end up on the tough side of the draw.

The players did the correct thing tonight took the easy way out with a lack of pride passion and effort rather than prolonging the agony and hopes of a nation and being utterly dismantled by France in the next round.

As abject as we were.Hodgsons insistence on playing a keeper who by no stretch of the imagination is remotely international standard has cost us again

Cheap shot here... But I remember not so long ago Goku telling me Hart was one of the best keepers in the world  Like I said at the time.. I've never felt confident in him and he's proved it yet again. That said, we got what we deserved and I'm not singling out Hart as they were all as bad as each other!

Add to that the decision to reinstate the two most abject players from the group phase, Kane and Sterling, back into the starting eleven in the knockout stages, was simply mind boggling!

He's one of the worst England keepers I've ever seen.

Iceland were unlucky not to go to the 2014 World Cup, qualified through a harder group than ours, haven't been beaten at the finals so far and yet the press still treated them like a load of bums

Of course we should beat them, so should about every other country in Europe

Dele Alli has been woeful in every single game as well and Roy never changed him.

A major problem with Englad, and it's one that will be so hard to overcome, is that the squads, and hence the team, are always picked by the Press. How you become one its "darlings" is beyond me but the likes of Hart and Wilshire, and others of course, fall into that category. The latter is not worth a tupenny toss and the former has an ego that's out of control. There are others and this extends to managerial candidates as well. Don't put your mobile phone on silent Harry, just await the call from the FA via the Sun.
