Absolutely,yes I am.

I reckon the net profits from the lounges & concourses on the day should have been more than sufficient to cover the stewarding costs & still leave the club a nominal return.

I see the middle ground as the club waiver the stewarding charges & the family receive the net gate receipts supported with a full ticket reconciliation.

In 64/5 season town were in the embarrassing position of being the only league side without floodlights. To rectify this they launched an appeal fund, to this end a group of Newbold lads spent a couple of days doing jobs, selling old toys, owt really to raise cash. Having reached the total17/6 (75p) we walked to the (don't waste cash on bus fare) ground, daintily tapped on the feared wooden hatch and waited for the ogre to appear. Arthur Sutherland appeared grunted before he could vent his spleen varying coins were deposited onto the counter as we retreated. We'd nearly exited the carpark before he shouted us back. He thanked us all with humility, shook our hands, made us feel important asked us all our names which were later entered into a programme in the regular Floodlight Fund donation feature. We were so proud, we were Spireites
50+ years on we now find the fans helping out to cover leadership inadequacis. Oh for an Arthur Sutherland type leader, firm (very), fair but most of all he was town through and through.
For me this latest cock up is a cock up to far, you do not disrespect a town legend. Heads need to roll and also a morale boosting exercise is required.
The irony of the story the eventually purchased Floodlight were useless they were "twisted" they came from deedahland

Thanks Keith.

Spoke to a good friend who has travelled home and away for years this evening.

He and his five friends have regrettably took the decision to boycott all matches home and away this season.

I somehow don't think they'll be the only ones with all that's going on.

Regards Nigel.

Can I ask what happened to your proposed meeting with CT?
In my opinion this whole sorry saga needs bringing to a head well before any player reports back for training.
Why not contact the club and suggest several dates and times when you and other people that you have nominated will turn up and wait to be seen?. It doesn't really matter if they reply or not. I'll volunteer to wait with you.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Sadly my opinion is that any meeting now with CT/LS would be totally unproductive.

The final Fan's Forum of last season was cancelled, simply I believe to avoid embarrassing and probing questions.

Also I'm firmly of the belief that any offer of a meeting would be rejected by the two directors of the PPP.

You're right. It'd be pointless. Those who deserve the probing questions won't want to hear them or act upon them.
