Wind your neck in. He apologised for his behaviour at the time. And young men and women are largely led by their nether regions. The amount of hypocrisy on here is breathtaking. Hands up if you've never gone home with someone who's had a few too many...

Nope, never done that. I've made sure people have got home safely by paying for them to get a black cab home after a night out. But maybe that's just me.

I'm firmly in the signing Evans is a good decision camp, however spending a few years beaked up to your eye balls is a hell of a lot different than allegedly bending one up a bird without consent!

You're a gent sir, not many of us about. I have done the same myself and even threatened the taxi driver with the fact that I've took the number plate of his cab if she doesn't get home safely.

Not to out gentleman anyone here, but I once walked a lass home and when she asked if I wanted to come inside, I declined, stating that she was drunker than I was and I didn't roll that way. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer a sexual partner to be conscious...hell, even somewhat involved. After hearing my reasons, she proceeded to punch me in the face and stumble indoors. Surprisingly, there was no second date.

Me too.

But my point still stands. What we're talking about here is an issue of gentlemanly conduct, not one of rape. I've always stated I found his behaviour sleazy, but there is no law that says sober people cannot have sex with drunk people.

**Edit. Eveans had been at a nightclub, not sure if he was drinking or not.

Video evidence at the hotel suggests the girl was NOT blind drunk.

Did she think they were going in to play dominoes ???

She sounds feisty. You probably missed out on a cracker there.

'Suggests' is a very vague word isn't it?
As for the playing dominoes bit, does going back to someone's room mean a nailed on consent to have sex with that person? Does it also mean your mates can come and join in? Or try and film it through the window?
Does the simple act of agreeing to go back to a hotel room mean you are saying yes to all the other things? What else does that mean you have said yes to?

I was at a car showroom the day all this happened, one of the salesmen was watching the news and said how sorry he felt for Evans, he said he has 'hundreds of single girls throwing themselves at him every night', firstly I don't think Hollywood A listers have hundreds of girls thrown at them every night, let alone third division footballers on a night out in rhyl. Secondly female attention is a long way from being consent to sex.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.

Great post fella. A female going back to your room does not entitle you to sex.

Maybe he paid for the pizza and kebab though?

That's consent in Rhyl surely.

If she had only just stopped drinking though the last bit of alcohol wouldn't have made it into her system yet though? So she might have still been drunker than she appeared.

On the same lines, consent is defined as:
Agreeing by choice, and having the freedom and capacity to make that choice.

Plus, of course, a woman has the freedom to say 'stop, I have changed my mind'. Otherwise the man can be accused of rape.

I don't wan to offer a defence for Ched but let's not try and make mother Theresa out of what is an absolute slapper.
