People do seem to have forgotten that is what more or less happened with Shinner. Left us after one season to move to a club further up the league ladder, tier two, at that time, Stockport.

That said whoever we end up signing wouldn't stop me going to watch us or getting my season ticket. I was going before I had ever heard of Ched Evans, Dave Allen or Chris Turners names and (health permitting) I will be going long long after they have left......
Because I will always support Chesterfield Football Club come what may!

We have signed players who've done much worse (and given seemingly 'hero' status to, not to mention still employ)
Whilst I wouldnt have made this signing based on the negative attention the club will certainly receive, this post is bang on. Hypocritical to condemn one and worship another.

Why anyone would give any footballer hero status or worship them is completely beyond me.....

😄 all this Vardy bottom licking that's going on too....it was only a few months ago he was racially abusing and physically attacking a Japanese guy in the stereotypical footballers hangout- the casino.
Footballers, eh...they can get away with anything...

A lot of it will be the initial reaction to the signing but assume some people really mean it and it is a deeply held view that they will never go again.
I was just wondering numbers wise how big of aproblem this is at this moment in time and people who are not going to go again by Adding their name to this thread could show the club the consequences of signing Ched.
Yeah....I'm not going to my local shop because he was also accused of rape.......muppet

Your obviously the soft toy. Why are you calling me a muppet? Is it because I started a thread to see if the people spouting on various threads about never going to see town again are serious about it?
I don't believe many will but I was interested further down the line to see if they actually carried out the threat.
So instead of calling names mouth explain why I'm a muppet?

Well said Azul, the hypocrisy of some of the people on here is unbelievable, the very same people (not all) who were gonna hang draw and quarter him just because he was a Blunt player, and who took the mick and vilified both him and the Blunts.
For the record, he WAS a great player for this level BUT hasn't kicked a ball in four years, so a big gamble even leaving the controversial stuff aside. Should he be allowed to play again? Well to be fair over the years there's been a lot of players who've renewed their careers after a custodial sentence with varyng degrees of success. Whilst not condoning for one minute anything he did or did not do, what's so different about Evans than say the ongoing and cumulative crimes of Marlon King?
Therefore, on balance I feel he should be allowed to resume his career having served his time. Whether or CFC needs this "distraction" with all the other problems the Club has is another matter altogether!

Evans is currently in a position of still being on trial.
What happens if he is found guilty?
The club are in the ****, up the creek without a paddle and would have ruined its reputation, not that it has much of one left anyway.
What happens if he is found innocent?
The club potentially have a good player and may make some money.
A massive risk that could go either way.
You don't count Tyler you've had so many reasons you aren't going to go again we'd have to be Mansfield fans with multiple fingers, on each hand, to count them all up.

Why would he show remorse for a crime he didn't commit?
Wind your neck in. He apologised for his behaviour at the time. And young men and women are largely led by their nether regions. The amount of hypocrisy on here is breathtaking. Hands up if you've never gone home with someone who's had a few too many...
