I hope the club have been smart enough to put a clause in his contract, that if found guilty he's sacked.

Spot on. A sad day for the club. A sad day especially for female supporters of the club.

Ok as a female supporter and assuming hus case goes as they expect and he is found not guilty, what has he done wrong apart from have sex with someone when in a relationship with someone else?
At the moment he is not guilty of rape, he is awaiting trial for it. A totally different matter if found guilty, but it is quite rare for a conviction to be overturned and a retrial ordered.
My most pressing concern isn't his legal battle, it's the fact he hasn't played proper football for 4 years.
Yes he is a wally for gtting into that situation, but we've had Tendayi convicted of assault along with Craig Davies and goodness how many other players.
Innocent until proven guilty, and having had 1 conviction overturned, guilty isn't likely to happen.

Having familiarised myself with the case and formed my own opinion on his guilt/innocence, I support him playing for our club.

Yes, we are desperate thanks to the idiots running the club and this is a risk that I really hope pays off.

On a side note, doesn't this make SEB kind of redundant.

Potentially not....we've signed a non league striker and one, court cases and opinions aside, that hasnt played for 4 years and might not be at the club by the end of October!

DA/CT/AC no morals, diabolical and DW has gone down massively in my estimation

Hope he gets foung guilty again

Why do you hope he gets found guilty again?? His conviction was QUASHED and he may just may be found not guilty at his new trial meaning he is innocent. I'm not sure if this will work out but I'm a strong believer in innocent till proven guilty!

See now why NO OFFER was made to Novak!!!

Chesterfield FC , i really hope this gamble pays off.
Be prepared for a lot of flak coming from ALL directions, hope you can handle this better than other on going issues

I have to admit i am not in support of this signing, it's either very brave or very very naive and stupid.

This is nothing to do with the club. Unfortunately we have some top class prats involved within the club. This is about 2nd chances. Bob Newton got a 2nd chance, players all around the country have had 2nd chances and that's after being found guilty. At the moment Evans is innocent. If he is found guilty of rape, then his contract will be terminated straight away.

Suspect the reason we didnt make an offer to Novak was because it was pretty pointless doing so as we were never going to pay what he wanted and has got elsewhere...nothing to do with this. Guessing but i suspect a combination of what we are paying Dennis and Evans comes not even close to what Novak is getting at Charlton.

Predictable over reactions, bad day for female fans, have you got daughters, can't support the club anymore etc etc

At the moment the bloke is innocent

What we know is He had a drunken one nighter with a girl, something that is done up and down the country every night of the week - usually with the 'blame' lying equally on both sides

If he is found guilty then obviously this changes and he gets sacked!

Massive gamble, may work, might not!

I would like to think a daughter of mine would not put herself in that situation in the first place

Reading Evans twitter page "Finally the news is out" leads me to think this has been in the pipeline for some time , thats why i was stating why "No offer to Novak"
Pointless as you say we were not going to pay his wages, and given we have SEB, Dennis,Simons and Evans (lined up).

If she had been around during the Darren Brown era he would have had her full support up to the minute CFSS took over.

But it seems to be many like minded people given the number of "greens" she's accumulated for that post.

If the club have any sense, he needs to be kept away from anything to do with schools or the community until after the retrial.
