Italy score a great second

I'd love to discuss the entertaining games on show so far rather than this...................

Game of the tournament so far mate. Italy excellent. Belgium massively overrated.

Italy looked very good. If I had have put a bet on an outright winner they'd have been my value pick each way.

Written off in some circles, how bizarre

Looks like Belgium is the new Holland (or even Spain pre 2008)

I didn't fancy Belgium at all tonight.

Some excellent individuals but I've rarely seen them make more than an average team together.

Think the peak quality has dropped a bit but the average quality has risen a bit. Good footy being played all round

Usual suspects still favorite but this could be anyones year

They remind me of the England team in the naughtiest. Talent in abundance but no team spirit which ultimately is going to let them down.

Just seen the Channel 4 scenes on the net- very nasty!
The poor bloke with a bag and his hand in the air who got punched!

Then there was the Russian sports minister goading their fans. (Although you'd have thought he'd be more interested in overturning the current ban on Russia from the Olympics due to doping...)

Just seen it on Facebook, disgusting doesn't come close. I feel really sorry for all the innocents caught up in that and that poor bloke, sucker punched by vermin. The bloke that got sparked out with a tea tray (or whatever it was) was waving something around himself, can't see if he was defending himself or posturing with it, anyway deplorable scenes.

De Bruyne seemed to keep getting the wrong club out of the bag.
These go to eleven.

Any club who has Fellani as a corner stone is always going to be a let down.

UEFA come down pretty heavy, for once, on the Russian lot over the trouble inside the ground. Big fine for UEFA who normally hand out fines of about 50p normally plus the suspended disqualification as well.

Uefa gives Russia a suspended disqualification from Euro 2016 from crowd trouble inside Stade Velodrome & 150k euro fine

Thanks for that- I hadn't read it yet- but as I said somewhere (probably this thread) I can't see how that will stop the 150 who have apparently attended the tournament solely to fight with medieval notions of 'national honour'. They don't care if the Russian national team gets disqualified, or whether they will still host World Cup 2018 (which they will as FIFA will have been bribed sufficiently).
These go to eleven.

The other issue with it is that UEFA only have jurisdiction for any trouble inside a stadium so the Russians are still free, as far as i can see, to kick off in and around Lille\Lens over the next few days without any repercussions on the actual team.

It's a laughable sanction. 150k Euros means nothing and the ban only comes into effect if there is any bother inside the stadiums so they are free to run amok outside the ground.

The fine, in UEFA terms, is actually quite sizable when you consider the paltry amounts the likes of Spain and some club sides get for things like racism in grounds etc. The other thing is UEFA have no authority outside of the stadium as it stands so they can only deal with that. This is also the reason that only the Russians have been brought to task and had this punishment as it was only them that kicked off in the ground on Saturday. None of the stuff pre and post match in marseille itself comes under what UEFA can deal with.

Presumably the Brits will be sticking together when the Russians come looking.

No it isn't.

As someone else said they can only take action for trouble inside the stadium, good job or we would be in the same boat. It is up to the French authorities to take action on trouble makers outside which they seem to be doing by looking to arrest the Russian trouble makers.

Seems the french authorities have made some inroads into mopping up some of the Russians...or just arrested 43 random russian blokes who happened to be in France!
