I hear there are plenty of security steps being taken at fanzones and the games.

In my opinion I would say the camp sites are the most venerable and do they have sucurity arrangements there.

Give us a view of how things are set up please guys.

I'm staying in a campsite just outside Paris. Can't live life planning around not getting randomly blown up.

I'm most annoyed that because of all these nutters security will be so tight I won't be able to smuggle my own booze into the fan park

I am going on Friday, there is an obvious threat from these misled terrorists but what do we do "stay in just in case they have a go at us", they will never win. Hoping for big things from England, so lets wait and see. Hoping that everyone stays safe and enjoys the experience.

I'm going thursday. We've just rented apartments/staying in hotels so no campsites. Not bothering with the fanzones as have tickets for all the matches but I can see it being a ridiculous police presence. The UK media seems to think the biggest threat is the England fans however not terrorism or anything else. Bet they are gagging for everyone to kick off.

Did you really mean "venerable"? I guess that you meant "vulnerable". The former would be boring, the latter not!

Me (ST in South) and my best mate (ST in East) are in St Etienne for a week. 16th-22nd. Got tickets to Czech/Croatia and England/Slovakia. Can't wait. Especially as an hour after the England match it's my 25th Birthday!

My first tournament and my first experience of football abroad, so not sure what to expect.

Sad thing is they'll probably get their wish at some point.

I am just flying in for some of the Paris games. Got tickets to the Portugal Austria game on the 18th, then the week after 2 last 16 games, one on the 25th, and then another on the 27th. If England win their group I see them, but probably means I will see Slovakia. At least I see the winner of group D, which looks a good group.
Debating whether to go to the fan park in Paris on the 26th as three games on that day. I doubt their will be an attack as security will be very tight, but the fan parks are where the greatest risk will be, particularly at entrances as sure to be lot of security getting in.

I don't know mate, the Paris attacks proved that the exact same impact can be gained without getting rumbled by the heightened security involved with high profile events like the euros.

Is that the story from yesterday of the Ukrainian arms dealer?

Media scare stories before every major championships

Brazil - mugging and kidnappings
South Africa - aid and rapes
Olympics - terrorism.

The bloke from Ukraine was arrested a month ago. Why did the media choose to report it now? On the eve of the tournament

You've been watching the news too much. Don't believe the scaremongering. Same nonsense every time a major event comes around. The media in this country is horrendous.

The news that someone was stopped with all the weapons...surely thats a good thing and shows the security is working.
