Wasn't it odd how England did a CFC? They got a 1-0 lead then sat back and let the opposition come forward, and just to rub it in, they conceded a goal from a classic League 1/2 long throw, flick on routine. If they had gone for a second goal they would have got one against a very poor Dutch side, even though some England players were shown up. Johnson did himself no good at all, as he couldn't even keep the ball on the pitch, Ferdinand's completed pass rate must have been about 5% (unless he was playing for Holland, in which case it was 95%). Joe Cole did put one brilliant cross in, but he also did more diving than a Great Crested Grebe, Carrick just continually gave the ball away, and Robinson made Rochey look decisive with crosses. The bright spot was the young Richards lad who did really well, but in general, I'm glad I'm Scottish!

I agree that the guy hasn't really been given much chance to play in the position he's best at, but I suppose the answer is that international players need to be flexible.

I don't see what's wrong with Crouch if you want Rooney to play off a target man, and have you noticed Crouch's amazing scoring record?

I used to look forward to England games, now i find it hard to keep myself awake watching them. We must be one of the dullest sides ever but im not at all suprised with McClaren in charge, he is just an English version of Sven.

I only saw the 20 minutes and Holland were awesome NOT, just lucky,Van Nistelrooy bags 4 goals in his last club game and this excuse of a manager doesn't pick him,if i was dutch i would be calling for him to be sacked :)

To be fair van basten has got a decent record for the dutch , so to sack him through not playing one player would be a bit ott.

Holland have always had problems woith team spirit and renown for fall outs in the camp and maybe he is trying to build a team instead of individuals.

Ruud is a well known trouble maker as it proved in the world cup and towards the end of last season hen fergie decided to get rid he would be more trouble than he is worth for the harmony of their squad again as this was proven at your beloved man utd.
ooooooooohhhhhhh i like a nice cuppa tea !!!!!

disruptive influence off the pitch. on the pitch everything has tobe geared towards him.
fergie & van bas arent bad judges of players & neither manu nor holland (excluding last night) are missing him.
