Newell was bang on about this:

"...bringing women into the game is not the way to improve refereeing and officialdom."

Women are brought in to officiate at mens' games because they are generally as good as the men they replace, not better than them.

What Newell didn't say was that the best way to improve refereeing is for managers to lessen the pressure on refs by telling their players not to cheat.

Back him all the way. I think he's a top bloke. He's not afraid to say what he thinks and believes in. Theres too many without guts in this game.

Makes you wonder how much backlash is being felt at Luton behind closed doors about his previous revelations about bungs. This latest episode could just be the reason to get rid of him to get him out the game
