I think people who claim Slew is the answer should be made to attend reserve games as some kind of community service. That is the 2nd time I have seen him., I must have robbed a bank. I have to say I thought Slew was our best player by a long way although that doesn't say much. Had a few efforts easily saved by Carroll and a horrendous miss at a corner.

I thought the young pretenders, Simons, Dimaio and Orrell looked really poor especially the latter.

Keller-Dunne looks skilful and quite fiesty but is even more lightweight than Orrell. He absolutely no chance of making it unless he grows upwards and outwards soon.

Daly looked half decent and I'd give him a try out if we can ever get out of this relegation mire. Then again we aren't looking for fullbacks

Unless he is injured, it doesn't look good for him

Was he a dwarf?

The Carroll sending off was very funny.

He had a dig at the ref a couple of times audibly suggesting he had come out of an "FA Lucky bag" on one occasion. He said something critical of the official when we got a free-kick on the right of his box that I was surprised saw no action.

His sending off followed a rough tackle by one of ours near our goal-line. Carroll shouted "you dirty little c*nt" up the field in a voice that everyone could hear.

I guess Slew didn't realise that the outfield player who went in goal was actually a keeper or he might have taken the penalty differently.

Yeah he purposely put his penalty at perfect goalkeeper saving height, if only he knew it was a 42 year old keeper with arthritis, he would've pinged it top bins.

You're summat else Pete. Proper special bloke.

I don't think describing someone as a dwarf is politically correct anymore...................however he was a very small person

No Slew had a nightmare game he was too casual for most of it. However when the veteran Pilkington stood off centre to face the kick Slew probably thought he only had to miss him to score; he went firmly to the narrow side far too close to the keeper.

Pretty sure outfield players still possess the ability to dive in a chosen direction

How do you determine the narrow side when taking a pen?
or was the keeper disorientated

Pilkington did not stand in the centre of the goal (unless it was an optical illusion).

We beat Doncaster 3-2 (Humphreys, Orrell (pen) & Beasley) - with 2 goals in injury time. With ht sub and ex youth team player Ben Partridge turning the game. Unfortunately Notts County also won - they are one point behind us (with a better goal difference and a home game v Gateshead to play next wednesday.

Thanks - very young & inexperienced side then.

Obviously keeping the likes of anyone likely to stand a chance of making the squad for Saturday away from an outing with the reserves.
