However

Am I expecting too much to see the players who wear the shirt to make a f&&king effort!!!!!

Far too many players do not give a damn about the club, the team and the fans.

Last night I lost count of the amount of times we won the ball in a decent position and the lack of desire to get forward and support the player was shocking. Players strolling around, Donny being able to just surge through the midfield and put us under pressure.

At throw inns no movement towards the ball, nobody wanting it, looking for it, players hiding away in games, makes my bl&&dy blood boil.

In the second half we had a throw in deep in their half. I counted SIX yes SIX town players still in our own half and in the centre circle with ONE Rovers player to mark. So we had four players in the attacking part of the field and they had ten men to defend it. Is it any wonder we could not penetrate and have a shot on target in the whole of the second half!

If you play one upfront the only way this system works is that the midfield quickly push up and support the front man, the times when Novak managed to secure the ball ladt night he had no and I mean no options, players isolated because their team mates just dont want it. Lazy no scrap that and insert bone idle!!!
Danny you must see what we all see.

God I used to remember the second halfs at Saltergate kicking towards the kop, the players we had then we probably technically no better or worse than we have now. But they tried, they huffed and puffed but at least put away teams under pressure. This lot in the main are spineless, leaderless and clueless.

So to all the players and you know who you are I have this to say........

Take off your shirt, leave it on the peg in the dressing room, pack your bag and go and play football somewhere else because your simply not fit to wear the shirt of the club I love.

To finish on a positive ......

Perhaps they were playing to instructions to defend and not lose happy with a point?

There was one incident on Saturday that summed it up for me. Novak chased after a ball at the Kop end that looked like it was going out. All he could do was hook it back into the box which he did, it was a decent ball in. Had any town players anticipated this? Had they f**k, there was no Town player within 30 yards and Sheff U easily cleared it. Novak must get fed up

I forgot to add we were losing at the time so had nothing to defend!

I think that's the case now, and, rightly or wrongly, was certainly the impression I got last night.

I think getting this rag-tag team of last years reserves, loanees, players who we've taken a punt on and untried kids to the 50pt mark is Something of a minor miracle.
If we won the last 3 games (unlikely) we'd finish only 10pts worse off than last year.
But clearly, improvement is required as we won't be able to ride our luck for a 2nd season
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

God help us if you are suggesting we are going to have worse luck next season

Of course, the players are trying hard, the problem is the ability of some of them and the tactics

I mean, lucky in so far as we won't get away with having such a sub-standard squad for a second season.
But agree that injuries and late goals have not really fallen our way

3 wins and a draw, something that could have been achieved by scoring an extra goal in 4 games. So not a lot at all really.
It has bee a poor season at home without a doubt although the games we have won have been entertaining (first half against Vale excluded)
Add into this all the last minute goals we've conceded and it's been a weird season.

Late goals aren't really luck based tho.

In addition I've decided not to get a ST next season. I cannot possibly see how we'll have a decent team so I don't see the point and I've got too many financial expenditures coming up. Can't be bothered committing to paying a load of money when I know any decent player we stumble across will be flogged ASAP and the fact we're an ambition less club makes me less bothered about missing the odd game here and there.

He made that perfectly clear in his interviews last night. The Morgan incident confirmed it.

In that case most teams would be doing a lot better. But they didn't. We have had an under strength midfield and defence for most of the season, that's why we haven't got 10 more points.

You might want to check your maths, I'd expect better from you :-)

An extra goal in a game potentially turns a draw in to a win (gains 2 points) or a loss in to a draw (gains 1 point) so at least 5 games!

To get an extra 3 wins and a draw means scoring 2 more goals in 3 games and 1 in 1 more.

Given we've struggled to muster a shot on target in a lot of games this season, I'd suggest that 10 points extra would be quite a lot!

I think so too, hence O'Shea's adverse reaction to disgruntled fans at the end, when he saw it as "job done".

FWIW I don't actually think we have that bad a team (granted they're not helping themselves with some proper sh*te performances), I am just sick to death of sitting back and defending when we have all witnessed occaions like Shrewsbury at Home, Port Vale at Home in the 2nd Half and even earlier during the Deanosauras reign Wigan at Home whom until the 81st minute we were battering.

Whilst last nights point in some peoples eyes is being considered good (including DW) as it took Donny out of the picture, it was an opportunity to go for the jugular and remove ourselves from the picture completely by claiming 3 points against a team that had only won 1 game in about 19 matches and were there for the taking and after equalising I really though we would, but that 2nd half especially was as tactically inept as I have witnessed this season! And we didn't claim a point we were gifted a point by a sh*t team who couldn't finish and when they could, the Referee saved us!!

For the record the referee had already blown his whistle for a foul on Banks before their man actually took his shot.
