Game of two halfs or what! No urgency, no tackles and totally lacklustre first half. I thought Hird saved us from being more down with a couple of last ditch tackles to be fair.
Second half saw much more purpose, more attacking intent and we looked a threat from then on. Bang on substitution by Danny and hey presto goal....
All in all a fair result and given others today a pretty significant point earned too! Town choirs rendition of sing when your fishing was bewildering but not as bewildering as singing 'Gerbil' Campbell Ryce....

my exact thoughts on todays game. Bring on Fleetwood.

i thought the Scunthorpe player should have had a red card as the tackle on Banks was worse than Liddles at Colchester. We may even have had a penalty when O,shea went over, I have seen them given against us.

We were sat right in front of the pen shout, definite contact so a stonewall penalty.

The good thing about Wilson, if he doesn't get a good performance you know he rips into his players at half time, you can tell from his interview after the game. Never thought he was that type before coming here and seeing how he is on the touch line during games also. He doesn't tolerate mediocrity for long before he loses his rag. Top man.

I was in line with it at the back and if it were anywhere else on the pitch he would have given a foul. Weak ref all afternoon.

Seems to me we set up defensively first half, but had no option but to attack second half. Danny got that right and gained us a valuable point which may well be vital end of season. Any idea who was our MOTM.

ONeil and OShea were outstanding second half, but overall Hird for me.

Totally agree about O'Neill he went from looking all at sea first half to a potential motm in the second! As for the jayo penalty shout I was 9 rows behind you and thought he dived but my mate sat next to me said stonewall which was good for debate in the car on the way back.....
I also agree with Benno their man should have definitely seen red for the physical assault on banks!!!!

With the speed the ref went to his pocket I was sure it was Red.

ONeill for me. Very good technically and top defending . All back four played well although I thought slight hesitancy might have cost the excellent Anderson ,allowing Madden to get in for his goal.

You should remember we don't get bad decisions from the officials, Walsall are top of the fair play league and deserve to be so, when our players get sent off they deserve it like Liddle & Talbot v Colchester and Ariyibi v Rochdale did as determined by Goku et al.

Referees and officials lack consistency and what is a sending off with one is not seen by another. The fact that they make mistakes can be the difference between success and failure. We lost Liddle for 3 games, Scunthorpe's player plays on, DS's Burton incident cost us a potential 3 points - how important now?

We should stop pointing these matters out because we are acting like 12 year olds, but, how come, virtually every game the officials become a talking point?

Discussing disputable refereeing decisions from a game of football is acting like a 12 yr old? Really?

Yeah, when all you do is whinge about ref decisions and pretend that they absolve the team from any blame I can confirm it is acting like a spoilt mardy child.

Wasn't it the same ref as today ?

Game of two half's. So much better in the second, just glad we were only one down at the break.
A decent point gained.
