A terrific home debut! And what a strike for the goal, MOTM, I'd have to question that. John and Banks were the two standout players for me. Banks probably nudges it, held the midfield together, linked play well, and the audacious chip attempt on goal was pure class! So that give it him for me
But the other too weren't to far behind him!

Today was my first viewing of Dimaio and I thought he looked to have bags of potential. I thought he had a very good first half and his goal was a lovely move and finish. I did, however, think he was very quiet after his goal and drifted slightly. That's not a criticism, he's a young lad. All in all a very good debut IMO and I'm chuffed on today's showing that we've bought him in.

MOTM ?? Not for me. Personally I thought Novak was outstanding and he would be my choice. Sam Hird played very well also.

Both centre halfs did well as did Dimaio but....

Novak was the absolute stand out motm by far for me!!!

Likewise mate, Novak was outstanding but a big pat on the back for a lot of lads today, Banks, Dimaio and John especially.

I enjoyed his work today. There's definitely something to work with there and nowt gives me more pleasure (well, football-wise) than seeing a Town lad (Town fan too?) banging one in in front of his own people.

Novak for me, but no one's mentioned Tommy. We'd have lost today if it wasn't for his one on one saves and also from the point blank header at 1 nil up. Could easily have been MOTM.

The only downside is that centre mid now Herd and Liddle are out. They strolled through us at times and a better side would've knocked us over. We were clinical with the chances we had which is good to see.

Connor played very well today, very composed and gets stuck in. Can pick a pass also. Well pleased with his contribution and definitely in the top 4 performances today, no question in that.

Very good point regarding Tommy. Two very good second half saves. Still Novak for me but Tommy most definitely deserves a mention.

Is he really only 17 ? What a jewel to find.

However remember Dan Gardner also scored on his debut and it seems he has gone backwards.

I might be wrong, but I thought Tommy was at fault for their goal. Didn't he parry a shot back into the danger area rather than catch it or get it safe? Perhaps my real time memory is playing tricks.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
