You better start getting used to it lads cos we'll be coming back again later this year, and remember how upset you all got the last time.

I'm a Stags fan replying to a thread titled "Mansfield" on your message board. Just the same as Spires fans do on Stagsnet, and all other teams fans do on rival boards across the whole country. It isn't exactly a new phenomenon Westbars Spireite, or should I say Chambta?

You think what you like.

The rest of it isn't far off the mark is it?

How upset we all got last time? Really!I think everybody in the ground realised it was a smash and grab raid by you lot, and fair play, three points is three points, but in the bigger scheme of things it was a very small blip in the run to promotion and the title. It was you lot who elevated it to something akin of World dominance, and strange how the 1-0 win at your place a week later on route to yet another Wembley appearance seems to have been erased from your collective memories. You might be right, and we might well be playing each other again next season, I'm not confident of staying up TBH, but it amuses me no end how much your lot hype up a 1-0 league win at our place.

On the balance of it though we did only get promoted and go to Wembley and they beat us, so it really was a good season for them

If you play us again it will be because we have done badly, not because you have done well. You haven't got a prayer of coming up.

We know we aren't going up. It wasn't the goal this season to get promoted but to begin the rebuilding process which is going very nicely and above everybody's expectations .

If it wasn't your goal to go up, then it says everything about your club. It should be every teams goal to go up, before the season starts. We are dire, but without playing us how do you know you are better than us? You have better results in a lot worse standard league, means nothing

"it should be every teams goal to go up" really? Says who?

We were fortunate not to get relegated last season. We got a new manager who has brought in a different philosophy and a whole new team. This season the priority was to put the building blocks in place and give us something to build on next season. From this weekends press:

Quote

Underdogs Mansfield Town feeling no pressure for trip to title-chasing Plymouth Argyle

We’re enjoying proving people wrong and I keep saying to the boys, let’s not worry about the league, let’s just worry about the next game.

“We are having a very good season, so let’s just enjoy it.

“We are not expected to get anything on Saturday, so we can go there with no pressure on us and try to beat them.

“They have got to beat us to stay in the top three and try to catch Northampton. They expect to get promoted this season.

“That wasn’t our main target this year, so we will go there and enjoy it on Saturday and fight to try to beat them.”

Oops I forgot that unlike just about every other forum in the world you have not yet grasped the technology to be able to post pictures up on here. How embarrassing.

Mansfield fans "The Gunners"gunner come back when Haslam's gone'gunner come back when we get out the conference, gunner come back when we get rid of Cox.You couldn't muster 3 thousand home fans for your last home game with £1 a kid and winning previous two games, make no mistake we are struggling on and off the field but the public of Chesterfield back their football club were as Mansfield doesn't.

Mansfield will always be in the shadow of Chesterfield, not only in footballing terms, but morally (we know they still harbour a bunch of class traitor Thatcher loving bounders) and as a place in general! Quite simply Mansfield is a scumhole and regularly is mentioned in lists of the top ten worst places in England!

You were averaging 3,400 in 2010. Short memories.

Lets see what happens when you get relegated and what attendances you'd get if you went into the conference. People on here openly admitting they wont renew ST next year because of the situation.

Even with relegation, if it happens.. I'd put my house keys on us having a higher average attendance than your scabby lot!

We could get relegated & you promoted.. We'd still have more fans in the ground. Home and away!

Heard it all sooooo often before.

And y'know how some teams have stars added to their badge to indicate major honours won - is it true our little neighbours are having a couple to celebrate their two wins over us in the last twenty years?

Simple truth is we only have to finish twentieth in this division to surpass owt they've achieved in the last quarter century.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Don't think we're in a position to comment on others at the moment, tbh.

Completely agree with you on this. We have for some reason started a thread ridiculing Mansfield for getting tonked against a Plymouth side who look nailed on to go up. A Plymouth side that would no doubt tonk us also.

We have a team in dire straits and look certainties for a return to the doldrums that is League 2. There are times for poking fun at our inferior neighbours but unfortunately this is most definitely not one of those times.

The old saying regarding getting your own house in order springs to mind.
