what bollux. What punishment should the ref dish out to the defender then, who also had his feet in the wrong place?.

They're playing football, not Twister.

Watched it again.

Point of contention seems to be the first one. Frames 1:04 - 1:05 on this link to CFC youtube.

I'd note where the ball is in relation to him (never had intention to go for it imo) but more telling is the fact that he has both feet close/planted together, like a swimming dive! And your feet would never be like that in motion, as he would have to be considering he'd kicked the ball 10 yrds in front of him. Pity, as he obviously had a stormer and won us the game.

We were unlucky to get a ref who was that strict, but I hope refs all over the country enforce it and even the playing field.

Other (side) point is that having that negative mindset to look for the FK/Pen/FosberryFlop rather than back yourself to skin the full back and bang it in the bottom corner could be detrimental?

But the video you are referring to for the first one is no where near the much nearer distance of the 'alternative away day' highlights, which are also slowed down for us to see the defender stand on Bolly's feet. Plus, the ball is only 10 yards away after he has been felled.

To me the point regarding Bollies 2 yellows is the fact we had a clown in charge who due to his own incompetence made an ass of himself the previous week (it was Notts c v Oxford if anyone can post the highlights) and he was probably out address the wrong in his own little world
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

For the first yellow card, the video evidence, especially from the `away day highlights' clearly shows that Gboly was fouled & any appeals panel seeing that would surely have to rescind the card? Yes, maybe he was looking for it, but there was still contact! The second one is inconclusive and contact debatable, but it seems clear that Gboly goes down too easily between the two defenders and deliberately leaves a trailing leg behind; if there was no contact, then it was a dive and a deserved yellow card,(though I don't think the linesman flagged, and he ref was miles away so how could he be sure?). KAGB makes a good point with comments about a `negative mindset' being detrimental, and this is a good case in point; with a positive mindset perhaps Gboly could have had the confidence to `skin the full back and bang it in the bottom corner'. It's quite sad really, we've been waiting for him to shine and after a couple of awful performances were beginning to doubt his capabilities, but on saturday he was having the game of his life, and IMO it was somewhat spoiled by a negative mindset. It's to be hoped the lad learns from this experience and adopts a positive mindset for the rest of the season and turns into the match winner we all hope he will be.
