This makes it all the more clear that the sending off was unjustified. Here we have a player who is running the opposition ragged. He doesn't need to dive and to my mind, he hasn't, at very least he hasn't twice. On the second count, the referee was a mile away and hardly in a position to have a clear view. No pow wow with the linesman this time. No time to think things through. No, off you go! Poor display from an official who was all at sea and just wanted to make the headlines.

There is superb view of the first booking on the 'alternative away day' video on Player. It's clear that Bolly is fouled, as their player stands on his foot. I still suspect Bolly is the first home league player to be sent off for two dives, which in itself tells us a story.

To add to this, the red card is discussed in You are the ref, part 2 at about 8 min 35. (CPS look away now).
However they have not actually seen the two incidents, but correctly make the point 'how can the ref be absolutely sure'?

So to summarise;-
Boli is having the game of his life.
He rides countless unpunished illegal attempts to halt his progress
He scores an excellent individual goal only to have it wrongly chalked off
His individual skill should have earned his side 2 penalties (lessons to be learnt on not over dramatising things though) only to come up against a ref (sic) who the previous week was made to look an idiot having wrongly awarded a pen for a blatant dive and was looking to make amends.
Instead of leaving the pitch to confidence boosting plaudits due to an excellent performance and desperate for the next game to carry on with this form he leaves as a villain wondering whether he'll be able to reclaim his place in the side.
He must be asking himself "what the f*** am I doing in this god damm country where people don't appear to understand soccer "
Yorkshire is Yorkshire
Never the twain shall meet.

All agreed. Though regarding the last sentence, Bolly has been in England since he was 8 or 9, so I am sure he knows all about our daft referees.

If he plays like that for six months I'm sure he'll sell himself. The fact the performance is being talked about as it is is that it's a massive uplift from his general contribution.
Until he can replicate it regularly he will be remain a curious case. The rest is down to him, with the management team's assistance.

As regards Gboly in particular, he goes down way too easy ( had done at least 3 times the week before). Beyond the fact that it's embarassing to see, it doesn't benefit us, as once you have a rep for it then referees won't often give genuine fouls because they think they're being mugged off. Just because someone treads on your toe it doesn't mean you have to go down like you've just been blasted with a 12 gauge shotgun.
He doesn't need to do it, and I hope that behind closed doors DW has had a quiet word in his shell-like.

Have you ever tried running as fast as Bolly with someone stood on your foot?

Is that a joke question!?
He chucks himself on the floor. If you go to the match you will have seen this on plenty of ocasions. By all means support that kind of nonsense if you like. But don't be a hyporite and shout 'CHEAT'or moan when someone does it to us. Or be under any illusion that refs speak amongst themselves and know who is fond of rolling over and act accordingly.
An awful part of the modern game. The more people that get sent off for simulation and exaggeration the better in my opinion. Stamp it out of the game. It's embarassing to watch.

But a ref has to be 100% certain they are "chucking themselves to the floor" and not sure you can say that about either occasion on Saturday.
