The confidence that he has instilled into the squad in such a short space of time is beyond remarkable....& the effect he is having on certain players..more notably O'Shea & in particular...Ariyibi!!!

Will he be able bring out the talent that everyone expected & thought that he possessed!!? You never know, he could be our next million pound player!!!

All this praise..& he was absolute dog shizzle 4 games ago!!

Think it's obvious Saunders didn't have the dressing room and nobody wanted to play for him
It's not sticking!!!

Anyone see Paul Scholes bemoaning Van Gaal's style of play post the United match. Negative, boring, not getting the he ball to the forwards. It could have been us talking about Saunders!

These players need to be on the ball affecting the game as much as possible. Saunders' unbelief in keeping possession was clearly detrimental to our forward players, and thence the entire team. Look what happens when you implement a game-plan that involves getting the ball to the players that can create opportunities and allowing them to do so.

We're not gonna win every game like this, and there's plenty of work ahead, but it's nice that we've finally turned up this season! Chesterfield are back.

I was talking to the wife about this earlier.
We've got a squad of players that were assembled by Paul Cook, a manager that whilst on the pitch it was a professional fast flowing passing game that had to be played with a smile on your face because you should feel privelidged to be a footballer. The whole clubs ethos was "we're here to enjoy every minute". Then in walks Dean Saunders. The yang to PC's ying.
The football ethos was "hoof the f***er"! Apparently the training was "look at what I can do". The interviews were  errrmmmm mindboggling.
And to top it all off he blames the players who were integral to a play off team last season because we were s**t this season!
They didn't want to play for him, surely going into work for them was suddenly a ball ache rather than an exciting prospect. Then the players get there wish. He's gone.
In walks Mark Smith. Right from the lower echelons of the under 21's. Surely the coaching staff of the first team must've thought "why"?
Would he have got a full co-operation from them? I think the team tried but I don't believe that he had a fully co-operative back room staff.
So in walks Mr Wilson. Although it's not the same passing style of Paul Cook it's still a style that encourages the players' personalities.
Ariyibi looks a different player straight away.
Oshea is finally getting some consistency.
The back four (albeit forced) are looking like they can cope, are allowing the midfield a chance to go forwards.
The interviews have an element fun about them, the training would surely have an element of fun about them without the manager showing up his players. The team are playing for him, it shows on the pitch.
Long may it continue.

Not naming names...but I was having a chat with a few of the lads when DS was appointed..to say they weren't impressed &,underwhelmed is an understatement

DW is a breath of fresh air...much like PC was...although DW has the experience, credibility, tactical nouse & motivational skills more than anything

That was the natural reaction from anyone able to absorb information.

It's early days, but full marks to DW so far. He's instilled confidence into the players & they want to play.

Make no mistake, his contribution has been the catalyst. He wouldn't have even been on my shortlist, but he's giving us a fighting chance.

Always ticked most boxes and as we appeared to be in free-fall, we really needed someone with experience.

A stop the rot manager, but hopefully more. I hope nobody else employs Saunders, but the sadistic part of me wants to see what happens again if they do!
