This weekend 12 months ago we were just about to pick up our 21st point of the season in a 0-0 draw at Crewe. Nobody was calling for Cook out as I recall. This year we have 23 points with a game in hand.

I think its maybe time to cut Deano some slack.

I'm with you but I suppose it's a chance you take, wait for some significant improvement and run the risk of losing him

He'd be ok as he is now as long as Morsy was alongside him. Might be horribly exposed by the end of Jan though.

To get where?
He's clearly at a league one standard right now so how far has he got to go before he'll be good enough?
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

It was supposed to be a bit of a play on the use of pronouns in the above post rather than a serious opinion. Ne'er mind!
These go to eleven.

You are missing the trick, IF we had Improved our team from last season, with the state of this league this year, we would more than likely, be sitting at the top of the league!
But we didn't, and we're not.

Your view doesn't count though - the footballing people at cfc obviously view him as a valuable asset for us.

Maybe we should bear in mind we could lose Morsy come January and who knows who else. We seem to be trying to cover any eventualities.

As a general view we are going down the route of bringing in rough diamonds and developing them with a view to obtaining a fee. Then there is the new view of Saunders bringing in ex injured Championship players whilst alledgedly benefiting from their time with us in their attempt to get back into the Championship.

Any news on the recovery of the lad we signed from Blackpool.

God I hate this league.

That Crewe game was horrible. We huffed and puffed but never looked like breaking them down, and they could have nicked it at the end. Nice passing football but no end product at all.
I think Cookie was a great manager, but games like that should be borne in mind when talking management styles. No manager produces brilliant football all, or even most, of the time. Cookie couldn't and didn't and Deano won't either.

Just imagine if we added Daniel Johnson and kept hold of Doyle and all the summer departures... Wow, that would be some team and that's before Cooky would have added another couple of top-notchers in our weakest positions! This season could really have been the one, [sigh]

Yes, we huffed and puffed a lot, especially when he tinkered. He still had the foundations laid for a real crack at the Championship though and that was all in his first year after promotion.

So, Cook was a great manager .... But couldn't and didn't produce brilliant football ???

Apart from being contradictory, what a load of twaddle that statement is.

Don't bother with a reply.

Agree with you. Still not convinced with our midfield, though he's doing okay especially considering all the departures which wasn't his fault. I'm still not won over by him (not by a long chalk), but he definitely deserves more time as he not doing too shabbily (his football on the whole isn't the prettiest though).
