in your opinion of course. Personally I think they both have a lot to offer. Herd is the natural replacement for Morsy should he be sold in January as is expected, and I am hoping that we get him signed up on a 2 year deal asap. Banks may have his weaknesses (as many players have) but he ran the midfield when I saw him last Tuesday against Notts County. Ok it was only a reserve game but both he and Mani stood out and I wouldn't have been surprised on that performance to have seen both start last night. Banks' best position is in the hole behind a lone striker so if saunders ever decided to change formation then I can see a place for him and Herd in midfield. I can also see him lining up next to herd in central midlfield when morsy has gone. By saying that neither are the answer, you are saying that we have problems in midfield? what is wrong with you people. haven't we won 4 out of the last 5 matches? if we won every game most of you would still be moaning.

And of course that is your opinion, I couldn't possible comment

Don't think i've ever seen Ollie head a ball . It isn't his strong point but it would be nice if he would persist because of his height he might win a few. He does have an eye for goal and it is a shame he can't be utilised in our present set up.
If I were him I would train hard to add heading to my game to give me an edge, making it difficult to be left out of the first team. He also needs to man up a bit on tackles.

Here is a couple of nice ones for you from our promotion year

Pretty sure I have seen him score a header at Exeter as well in his first year

He looked quite threatening when he played behind the main striker especially in is early days

Thanks for that Azul really enjoyed it. Shows he can do it if he tries. Can we have that Ollie back please.

I don't think there is any lack of appetite for headers (as suggested by some) when he sees a possibility of a goal

He's never been the same since his injury at Wembley. Is it psychological? There is a player in there somewhere.

Well, admittedly it's only been at reserve level 'cos he's not yet had much of a chance, but I think his attacking game has actually improved under the new management. He gets into better positions to receive the ball, a bit deeper, and his passing range is exceptional. The conundrum remains though. CM's who can't contribute to defence can't make a living for long.

What did the Blunts do to accommodate Tony Currie?.

I agree but I remember arguing with someone about this and they were claiming he was going backwards before then

Would love to see him getting stuck in more, he would be a real asset, but it appears his desire to learn the defensive aspects just isn't there.

Would you like me to mop your tears up for you or can you do it yourself?

Maybe some constructive criticism would be more to your liking? In which case, pass better, stop ducking out of headers, use your build to your advantage and stop doing those stupid lunging tackles which get you nowhere near the ball.

It's hilarious how you're not allowed to criticize any of our players on here. We have a number of shít players, a fair few average players and a few decent players. Hence why we're bang in the middle of the table and not a league or two higher.

Banks is wánk, and I can't see that changing any time soon. He's had long enough. That little purple patch during our promotion season has propped up his entire career here

A bit harsh. Inconsistent maybe, if he was consistently good he would be playing at championship level i.e. Clucas.

I can't recall when he has been good at this level. He hasn't got enough about him. He doesn't seem to have a deep enough understanding of the game at a basic level for me, and nowhere near enough dynamism. He even went out on loan to Northampton in L2 and their fans thought he was hopeless too. L2 is very much his absolute limit, but honestly he'd probably be a better fit for a Conference team

That's what I meant to type; my fingers don't seem to be doing what my brain wants them to do today. I'm not usually bothered about him but he looked very composed and effective yesterday, seems to have shed a bit of the rawness to his game.

I thought the control on the whole was poor, though he can spray some decent passes about.

Aye he's good at pinging it to the full back whilst neither party is under pressure at all.

Ooh look at me being all acidic again.

This has gotta be a wind-up...right?

PS: it's successive managers who've decided Banks 'isn't the answer', not 'us moaning people'.

I really like him tbf (always have), though there is something fundamentally missing from his game. He's close to being a very important player for us, but yet could be one of those that never get's there! He's certainly a weird one and I agree his time with us is slowly going against him making the breakthrough. He's got the ability that has never been in doubt with me (and those that say he hasn't are plain wrong ;) ).
I agree with those who suggest the freer role as he can look lost in the centre; either way he's got to up his game and be consistently good because when he's good he's good, but the trouble his bad parts to his game make him look bad. Cut out most of the bad and we've got player on our hands (at our level anyway), but will he ever get there??? Time is running out for him.

Sorry to sound old-fashioned, but he needs to get stuck in. He's got most of the things going for him to make him a good L1 player - passing ability, positions, great shot, physique - but he totally fails to impose himself on the game.
Think O'Shea without the dribbling ability.
If he toughens up he'll be here for a while, otherwise he'll be back to non-league.

I tend to follow a general rule that if one manager doesn't pick a player, it's that managers personal preference. If successive managers don't pick a player, the fault is far more likely to be with that player
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

He'd be great at another club. That's his best position.

Happy with that. He'd struggle to get back in the fcum team

I don't know whether or not he'll make it as a player, but he's got the attributes. question marks seemingly over his mentality?

In a squad as threadbare as ours I think he can play a part. Maybe with 4 possible centre backs on the books we can go 3 at the back, even 5 , with Jones and Talbot playing a little ahead of the centre backs as advanced wing backs..
