A request from 'Attention seeker' (no really ;) ) on their forum:

Quote

Trying to get on your forum. Could you post this on my behalf on Chesterfield forum.

"We are trying to challenge the way fans are thought of last by the TV and footballing authorities. We want them to know that Monday evening is a crap time for most football fans for a Saturday game. Some are planning to stay outside the ground until halftime in protest. Others will have banners and flags complaining. But the one protest we ask you to join us in is a silent 2 minutes after kick off. Make a much noise as possible up to kick off. Then keep silent and encourage those around you to do the same for 2 minutes after kick off. Then make as much noise as possible. Together we're stronger."
Cheers

Attention seeking indeed.

If the match was not on TV tonight I'd have been unable to watch it.

I bet most of these weren't complaining when Sky TV money took Man U to the European heights.
These go to eleven.

How many protests are they having?!? Also what are they expecting silence to achieve over the telly....folk will just think they have a crap atmosphere at the game and not think twice about it!

And I bet they aren't complaining about a sell out & the TV money!! Weird!! You would think that a non-league team would be elated with being on TV.

Not just that but getting some national exposure for the new ground they've built and where they are having started from scratch but they are to wrapped up in their only little agenda against modern football that they lapped up as Fergie and co won title after title.

I just did what I was asked. I don't think they'll get much out of us joining in the boycotting.

I won't be, no. Anyone join me for two minutes of pro-BT Sports songs?

Exactly- it's a silence waiting to be filled.

"Self-righteous hypocrites" to the tune of Verdi's famous "Sit down, Pinocchio" might be a bit difficult so perhaps "There's only one Malcolm Glazer"?

Lusive- please don't think we're shooting the messenger. Thanks for passing on the message.

Won't we be having a minutes silence anyway with it being remembrance weekend? Their 2 minutes silence is just gonna confuse everyone and it's not like the commentators are gonna explain what's going on to their viewers because bt are part of the reason they are protesting.

I did wonder that myself....so in theory noise up to the silence then noise to kick off then silence! All trying a bit to much to make themselves noticed!

Maybe our lot should rework the Boomtown Rats and pipe up with "I Do Like Mondays"!

Good point. The whole protest is as thick as Barry White's shiite on Boxing Day.
These go to eleven.

Looking on Twitter it seems the weather is Gash in Manc and there are a few questioning if the game will be on.
