I went towards hazel grove last weekend A626/A6 just outside stockport....there was major roadworks there causing very long delays might be worth checkin if these are still on before setting off or use a different route just in case.......safe journey to all of us travelling.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

we are going that way, although the t/lihts at Furnace Vale should be mannually controlled until 7pm every day. They weren't bad coming to and back from Fleetwood the other Saturday, however the A6 is always busy at teatime.

If I go that way I turn off at Hazel Grove to Bredbury and get on junction 25 (M60), the directions say get off at Jun.22.

Snake is an option too. Head up to Ladybower and get on the A57.

I advise that you give your plan a miss; traffic after Woodhead on the A628 after Tintwistle up to Hattersley on the A57 can be a nightmare and it's unpredictable. There's a short cut, going via Chapel and avoiding Glossop and that next nasty stretch of the A57. Turn left a mile or so after passing through Little Hayfield, just before Chunal, and take the route over the hill, via Charlesworth and Broadbottom, that will bring you out close to the end of the M67. Take a look at the map, it's an easy one. I follow it regularly and it avoids all the queues late afternoon.

I think that's the way Google maps was suggesting for me. Can't see there being much traffic on those country lanes.

Bad traffic at Tintwistle - roadworks 2 way traffic lights again on a narrow road.
God I hate this league.

That's our route, it misses the traffic in Glossop.

Not sure how accurate this is but....

Spireites Police
#Spireite fans heavy traffic around Glossop, Hollingworth and Mottram A57 to M67 already

Didn't set off till gone 5:30 but was in the ground with 15 minutes to spare after sitting in the car listening to the draw.
Thanks to plannerj for the route.

Only behind Miss Daisy, who I was stuck behind from Robin Hood to Peak Forest without being able to overtake. She barely reached 40, slowed down when vehicles approached on the other side of the road and frequently indicated to turn into the hedgerow.

I almost felt bad giving her the finger when I managed to overtake when I had a standing start behind her at the traffic lights.
