Just seen this on the Grouse Facebook page :-

FREE FOOD! FREE FOOD!
On Monday night during FC United Of Manchester v. Chesterfield our new next door neighbours, The Kingfish Fryer, will be putting free food on the bar at half-time.

Beer, Food, Football and a great atmosphere... What more could you want?

Nice one. Anyone know if the Grouse is still run by a Derby fan?

The replacement for Chip Inn. Wonder if the kebabs are as good.

Ah right, I once went on a bus from there with my bro in law to watch derby at bramall lane and they laid on snap before the game.

As mentioned Nige passed away suddenly a while ago now and his wife Sharon, big derby fan also and goes a lot, ran it until a couple of years ago before the new landlady took over. Not really changed that much however and still one of the best places on Brampton.

Fantastic - thanks for the info Jon - will definitely be in there Monday then! I used to like Kostas and his Mrs in The Chip Inn - shame they went, but sounds like the new folk are keeping up the friendly service.

It's a lass called Jody who runs The Grouse now, and she's really sound too, along with Scat, who I had some banter with when I went to see Crackin' Right Foot (who're all Town Fans). He's a Leeds fan but he sometimes goes to watch Town

Sadly I'm on a 12 o clock start tomorrow and won't finish work until 8:30 :(

Good thing is that I work at CSC on the Manor, so should be in the boozer for 20 to 9 to catch most of the second half!! :)
Mug?? Being wrong never gets boring!

It should be cheaper for me to go than go down the boozer and have six pints watching it.
