Correct, that's why we should all judge DS after the 46 games? Some wanted him gone after about 8 games.

Some wanted him gone, before his first game!

Not sure if you know him (you may do he's a character) but Big John who drinks around the town has many a story to tell about her.
Every need got an ego to feed

I'm sure I'd know him if I saw him. I'd normally at this point say PM me the details but on this topic I won't be

Take that. Odd that we've got such a good away record yet a pretty poor home one. Ah well, it's the points that matter, doesn't really matter where they come from. Well done Town.

Not that odd. Think I am right in saying that when DS left Donny for Wolves in Jan, Feb time in the season, he had only dropped 9 points away from home up to that point. Probably finds it easier to set up away from home than to have to chase the game more at home.

Perhaps that what helped Donny to the title. The replacement (Bryan Flynn I think) might have changed things enough to bring the home points in aswell.
There might be a message in there somewhere.

the judgement comes after 46 games not 16

Really? Most folk on here judged Saunders after 3 or 4 matches. Some folk just can't give praise where it's due. Its a results based business and despite some poor football we are 3 points better off than this time last season . I say he must be doing something right considering his team was ripped in half before he could do anything .

Sorry, but I just can't summon up any enthusiasm looking at the line-up.

Hird from scapegoat to RB? Unless Saunders is playing the half-fit (at best) Herd there with the more experienced man in CM. Kinda tells us all we need to know about his confidence in O'Neil, though, doesn't it. But hey, it's not as if he signed him or owt...

Wood from Fleetwood first eleven to our bench? Strange, just...strange.

Simons in front of Ariyibi, too? Well it's a toss-up between two youngsters who've yet to show any real consistency. Yet I'd have preferred Ariyibi, for what it's worth.

We can only hope Tommy Lee can pull off another three or four last-gasp saves to give us some sort of chance.

EDIT: best wishes to Mr and Mrs Novak.

Lol! Just proves ya know fuc all old man and your Constant moaning and your 'look at me I know more than our manager ' attitude is getting embarrassing and really ought to stop as it's getting boring. Can't you just wait 90 mins before giving us your 'expert' pre match warnings? Or is it that you just can't wait to slag Saunders and his players off?

It means compared to last season, after 16 games, we are doing better this season, points gained wise. If we are doing better points wise after 46 games, we will be all very happy and DS will have done an amazing job first year in the job here.

Could just mean that the standard of the league this season is poorer than last season.
Maybe if we'd got last seasons "set up" this season then we could've been 10+ pts better off. ;)

How can a leagues standard be poorer from one year to the next?
Look at the standings of those promoted and relegated

Talk about an argument that cannot be proven and you've got it in one.

I could say that apart from a couple of teams, or so, the league was quite weak last season. After all we scraped into the playoffs with a fairly low points tally. However, our performances in the playoffs were a total let-down. On top of which the teams that succeeded in gaining promotion from our division are not looking particularly good in the league above.

The sooner enough points are gained to avoid relegation determines how good the season will be. Generally, it is accepted that 50 points are required as a minimum and at the halfway stage 25. So after 16 games we are 2 points short of the halfway target. Anything over 2 points in the next 7 games takes us beyond that target. Just one point a game will take us up to 30 points and I'll leave the statos to tell me how many we had after 23 games last season.

We are virtually achieving just over 1.4 points a game. Cook's team achieved 1.5 points over the season. If we continue at the same rate we should get about 10 more points by match 23 to take us to 33 points. If we achieve this I will be more than satisfied and feel this could be a springboard for a better second half of the season.

I think that's probably a fair point that, Bristol City, MK Dons, Preston and Swindon, apart it's pretty similar to last year with no real stand out teams like last season. I think Bristol City are the real surprise in the division above, really struggling.

It does as many on here myself included are full Of comparisons between Saunders and Cook and their differing styles. So if we can compare the two to criticise then we can do the same to find positives.

Made a late call to go yesterday, the temptation of a few ales in Blackpool swung it and bar the tram back from Fleetwood it was a good day. Lots of town missed the game and stayed in Blackpool but they missed a decent performance. Herd and Morsy controlled the game, and O'Shea was very good too! Saw a few decent bits from Fleetwood fans on our play, "Pass Pass pass..great to watch" was the pick and we did look good on the ball without doing a lot with it, I'd imagine we had 60% possession yesterday, albeit a lot of it in our own half. If we can up the tempo and find a little more incision going forward we would carve teams like Fleetwood to bits. Going to miss Morsy so much though.
