Another point here...if they are so against the TV Coverage i assume FCUM will be refusing to take the money for being on telly? :windup

Fair to fans, what about the CFCs fans who would never get to see it otherwise

Have to admit, that was my first thought. Had it been a Saturday/Sunday, I would have made every effort to get a ticket. Unfortunately, like many others, I won't be able to go on a Monday evening due to work.
They are only allocating us 500 tickets, meaning there will be many disappointed CFC fans, so to then make such a fuss is very unsportsmanlike in my opinion.

I'm glad it's on telly as I'd have little chance of seeing the game otherwise. Pubs should attract a few too with plenty not having BT Sports so good for local, hardworking landlords to have their tills ringing.

Come on I think you are over doing this a bit, plenty have moaned on here about games being moved for TV purposes and it doesn't happen to us very often

It is just this one isn't too bad a time and it means we can all watch it

I can't see the BBC picking it when they don't even mention it in the article. They'll be all over Didcot or Salford.

Salford with the class of 92 being involved will be nailed on

Meanwhile

FA CUP MATCH: CLUB STATEMENT

"Altrincham FC were notified today by the FA at 1.45pm that our Emirates FA Cup game vs Barnsley had been chosen to be one of eight games moved to Sunday November 8th with a 2pm kick off for live single camera footage with an FA compensation fee of £12,500 payable to the club.

By 3.30pm we were notified by the FA that Barnsley FC would not agree to this move and therefore the game would remain on Saturday 7th Novemember.

Representations were made to Barnsley FC by both our secretary, Derek Wilshaw, and myself but to no avail. They wished to stick to their Saturday /Tuesday game schedule and were averse to moving another fixture.

The FA have power to force clubs who are involved in a live game to play at a specified time and date. However, they are not happy to impose such sanctions when it involves a live single-camera game.

Therefore, unfortunately, we yet again lose out on an opportunity to parade our talents live in the FA Cup".

Happy its on the Monday. Get back from Iceland that morning so can make it back to go and watch it in town as opposed to on my own in a bar in Reykjavik.

Barnsley do have a JPT game on the Tuesday so they shouldn't have to play Sunday then Tuesday.

They're now the live overseas broadcast being done on Saturday at 3pm, this gives both teams £6,750 each. Oddly for doing the same on Sunday, each team gets £12,500

I guess the audience is smaller, as most fans will at games at 3pm Saturday afternoon.
