I'm also led to believe they had a CCJ placed against them last Thursday.
Can anyone shed light on any of this?

It's in the Rochdale programme.
'After a number of discussions we have decided to rebrand what was formerly the Development centre as the Player Progression Pathway'

Shadow Squad
Player Progression Pathway
Just waiting for our first team to be called CFC Allstars and I think we're sorted.

Surely if someone told you they had a CCJ placed against them they'd have given you more than that? ( information wise)

Is it possible this is not merely a name change but a completely new business to avoid historical debts? (These things have happened before in football, remember Wolves and Alan Birch?)

Could we go for cosmos, I've always liked that as a team name.

Is it in any way linked to the village.

As well as our football club having a small number of young professionals loosely termed "development players" it is the case that many larger clubs term their u21 squads as "development teams". With some of Liam's players now appearing in a the H-K-L North Midlands Development Football League which caters for u21 teams the new name and the use of "Shadow Squad" is to differentiate from the Club's registered players.

Nice try.
We've made the change to enable the coaches and managers of bigger clubs to know, via an annotation on the team sheet presumably, those members of our U21 team who are, and are not, registered professionals?.
Why don't we just tell them that we have chosen not to define our teams in the same way that they do?.

Thanks for the explanation Pete, forgive my ignorance but just to clarify: if it's to `differentiate from the club's registered players' -does this mean that they are NOT registered to play for CFC, and thus in any emergency, would not be available? - and that they remain free agents and could sign for another club?

I should have said registered professionals and academy players. Until the u16s move from the PPP to the Academy then I do not think they are tied to the Club, I do not know whether this is the case for the students and shadow squad. I might need to get Liam to another Speakeasy to clarify everything.

Blimey. Can we have a week's notice please?.
Academy; under 16 PPP; over 16 PPP; Students; Shadows; Youth Team; Reserves.
Would you please have a stab at terms of reference for each, including which ones are CFC's responsibility?

We did go through it with John Bilton a few weeks ago.
The Club has 27 professional footballers on its books.
There are about 18 in the u18 Academy (Youth Team)
Then there are 30 plus students with Liam's FE college- Player Progression Pathway.
Clearly Dean Saunders can pick any of the pros or youth team to play for the first team, he can also register any of the students to play.
The reserves will be made up of those not getting regular games for the firsts and might be supplemented by youth team players, those from Liam's Shadow Squad and trialists.
Some of the PPP u18 students will make up the Elite Shadow Squad and play in the North Midlands u21 Development League. I believe trialists and the like can also play as it isn't a student league. Students who are not making sufficient progress on the field will still have to complete their education. The Youth team and students will also play inter-club games.
It is expected that the senior management team will watch all matches

I'm still concerned by the alleged CCJ, though.
The person passing on the story is quite insistent, infact I'm told it's one of two actions the DC is facing.
Hopefully it's nothing, but given the uncertainty over how - if at all - the DC is connected to the Club I'd hate to think CFC might end up footing the bill.
