played against him loads as a junior and after

never did anything to convince me he wasn't a complete knob

played pro for a few clubs after us and went down the leagues fairly sharpish

massively over rated due to being a local lad and playing in a poor side

Nicky Laws promotion team a 'poor side'???
Mate you really need to get over that catch, everybody knows you don't walk, it's the umpires job to give you out, blame him.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.

year after that, in Law's team he didn't do much as we had many better players

I've always walked, and if a fielder tells you they caught it and you stand you are a ****!

Umpires caved in to his 'do you know who I am' tantrum

I struggle to believe you've ever bowled anybody....

Once bowled moxom and trapped metcalf lbw in the same over both from yorkshire and both real gentlemen. Had goldsmith of derbys caught behind now he was an arrogant big headed barsteward who told me i coukd get ready when i batted pity we won the match before the no11 batsman was needed

I don't think Goldsmith made many friends when he played for Cutthorpe.

That was my last season due to a bad injury. Gave him out many times when umpiring. Akways enjoyed that. Unless he was bowled he always disputed the desisions no matter who the umpire was

Ok you don't like him, I'm fine with that 70+ games and 10+ goals shows he could play a bit.
As for the walking etc I haven't played cricket round here for a while so maybe it's very principled and sportsman like but I played in the Birmingham leagues for a few years and you virtually had to set fire to some peoples stumps before they walked off so I quickly learnt to stand my ground, two wrongs don't make a right and all that, but the better moral code could play havoc with your averages!

believe me, it's not at all principled round here, especially in the lower divisions with no umpires!

It's a shame that so many people do not walk, and more of a shame that so many players who are umpiring refuse almost point blank to give their own their own team members out

I just cannot bring myself to stand there if I know I am out, what I do believe this gives me is the right to sledge anyone who doesn't walk - there is nothing worse than people who never walk themselves getting all mardy and abusive when someone from the opposition doesn't walk

I think your getting confused

He didn't do well the season after we'd gone up cos he left in the summer!

We went up and he signed for Hull for £150k where he had 2 decent season and played 50+ games

think it was a golden goal as game finished as soon as he scored.
from what i remember we went 3 up & then rotherham pulled it back.
extra time, golden goal within minutes & ryan was down the tunnel before most people realised the game was over.

Only two silver goals were ever scored, and the last was Dellas for Greece v Czech Republic in 2004. Posted Image

I think rotherscum (so long ago it could have been us)scored an own goal, just a simple pass back left keeper no chance
