We all welcome it but surely we have to compete on the field to a decent standard to ensure we are safe in L2 or the crowds will really plummet.

L1 mate, don't relegate us already!

I really don't expect to be in a relegation struggle.

I don't get the doom and gloom irrespective of what happens with Tenday and Morsy. We are developing players and getting fees through the pipeline. There looks to be 2/3 more coming through with what we saw on Saturday.
I'm quite chilled over things at the moment especially with the Clucas deal. We'll probably all be on tenterhooks hooks right upto the dead line but I sense we'll be ok this season.
God I hate this league.

Southampton were favourites for relegation when they sold all their players last summer. They did alright.

Obviously a different standard but no reason we can't do well again.

Spot the difference:
From wiki- The Saints made a number of signings in the summer (2014), including winger Dušan Tadić, striker Graziano Pellè, goalkeeper Fraser Forster, striker Shane Long, defender Florin Gardoș, and attacking midfielder Sadio Mané. Two players were also signed on loan, namely left back Ryan Bertrand, and centre back Toby Alderweireld

Again, not talking standards, but sheer numbers. So far. Obviously time yet...

Southampton replaced £20M players with £10M players who had potential. A slightly different scenario to our pinching of championship triallists!

Which would you say carries the most risk? Someone who has failed in a trial at a Championship team, or a £10M signing?

Seeing some of the foreign gumph that Premiership and top end Championship sides regularly chuck millions at I'm not sure I agree with the point youre trying to make!
