The sell on Hereford had was for a percentage of any fee received by Mansfield, if that fee is increased by any sell on the sum paid to Hereford also increases. ATM the percentage Hereford received was based on MTFC receiving 70k, if MTFC now receive another 130k Hereford receive the same percentage as they received from the original sale, which I believe was a tribunal set 20%. Of course the situation is complicated by the liquidation of the company that ran Hereford United, I would assume the sell on will pass to the liquidators for the benefit of the creditors.

We all have differing opinions, of course we do, but what always amuses me on here is that the ones, like myself are open to discussing criticism of the club and fellow posters, are always willing to meet for a beer etc, the ones who decry any downbeat comments always shy away from a chat in person. Are they worried about their identity, I don't know!

Says who?

Can you cite any other examples of this happening?

Sell-on clauses on profits continue except where they are paid-off by agreement.

When Caleb Folan went from Wigan to Hull we got a percentage of the £500k profit but had to give half of it to Leeds.

Ok they went bust but whoever sorted out that sell on clause is pretty smart.

Yes we had to give half of it to Leeds, not Wigan, ie any sell on to Mansfield it's them who will have to,pay Hereford.

As I understand it, all transfer fees are paid to the football league, they then pass them on as appropriate. All transfer contracts are overseen by the FL so they will see any sell on clauses and distribute accordingly.

Look, we have to ignore what we are reading on the net until Xerves and Beelzebub confirm it is so. Until then, we are in danger of going blind, or some such similar affliction.

Could be a long wait - by the time they extract their heads from the sand we will be playing against pub teams in the Sunday League.

Of course there is nothing practical as supporters, that we can do about this sell off. That wasn't my complain, it was that we seem more concerned about DA's bank account than we do about anything else.

There are few examples of a club being stripped of its talent as us and we weren't even that successful last year. We were only a few points off being in an obscure mid table position. I get the impression that other clubs see us as an easy target and a place for a bargain. Maybe even DA has realised that things have got a bit out of hand. Perhaps the club are playing hardball over Darikwa in an attempt to arrest it but it is all too late after our CEO's past antics.

Regarding your last paragraph, I would've thought the same but there is precious little evidence that 30% of transfer income is being reinvested in the squad (and I'm not just talking transfer fees) so now I'm not so sure. I'd argue that 30% is flawed anyway. That might be ok if you are selling one to two players a year but if we are talking 4, 5 or 6 it just isn't sustainable. Does it concern you thatnSaunders has admitted he hasn't really been looking at additions as yet.

It does concern me yes. Although I am struggling to believe he has been so busy talking to a couple of our players in the last year of their contracts, that he has 'forgotten'that our squad needs some serious quality additions!😂
I quite like Saunders but that statement is a crock of śhite.

That's a fair point. But if it's reality then it's really worrying..if the Clucas deal goes ahead early next week and we still haven't got good players in a week later then it's fair to say we are in turmoil behind the scenes.

rapidly reducing the debt is a good way of making the club more attractive to prospective buyers

It's starting to feel like making the play offs last season was the worst thing we could do....advertised a number of good players at a smaller unfashionable club that could be picked off.

Exactly, we were only 4 points off mid-table obscurity
