I think with the exception of Doyle and possibly Roberts all were Paul Mitchell recommendations, Cook wouldn't have wanted to tempt him to Pompey otherwise

I thought Doyle, Roberts and Ryan would have been from Cook.

Raglan is the one I'm wanting to see in the cb spot, he a class player and given the chance by DS, he'll be bringing in another chunky fee come the end of season.

Not before?

I'm hearing we can expect what's described as a 'sizeable bid' for Sam Clucas from an as yet unnamed Championship club in the near future.

Forest? Were Interested in him before the move to us!

How can we be expecting a bid from an unknown club??

Either a club has signalled its intentions to make a bid (which is in effect a bid and you'd know that club) or its the clubs way of slowly releasing the fact that we've already had a bid and they're sticking their toe in th eater over whether to accept it or not.

Not doubt the info as such just the details,or maybe even the hidden agenda behind it.

Maybe your being used as an unofficial Alan Biggs, Chris??

How was the cricket on Sunday, by the way?

Yes of course- you don't think Da trusts him to do so? (Surely DA pays CT a decent wedge to decide on these matters)?

Unless you are suggesting CT is on a percentage of any transfer done by the "club"

Surely the CEO is there to carry out the wishes of the Chairman and the board. If that includes a selling players to reduce debt then that is what he'll do.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

In respect of player sales I feel we should all calm down big sytle - quotes directly or indirectly emerge with one purpose only. Not to whaffle worrying about the fans views, not to make any single person look good or in PC case bad. It's a well trodden path to squeeze as much value out of the player at that optimum time. We are in a position at the moment where not a lot has happened to entrawl the fans except players leaving, we are obviously in the hands of other clubs, agents and the out going player time wise. The agent will spin it out to the last minute for optimum value and there is nothing we can act on until the deal is done.

DS can have incoming players waiting on the sidelines but everyones hands are tied at cfc untuil such times as someone leaves.

God I hate this league.

It's alright getting all this money into the club but is pointless if it's getting swollowed up by losses.

So how do you suggest we cover losses, just ignore them and hope they go away?

If we have to sell players to keep the club afloat then so be it.. Unless money can be made from non football related streams all well and good but we cant can we? We have a Chairman who won't sqander his millions on the playing staff so what else to do? He wanted a 7k average attendance (his words) he got it then said it wasn't enough. We need what, 9k every home game? It won't happen, no matter how much the higher echelons of the boardroom bleat on about it. We need to sell players for the club to stay afloat.

Thought we'd been doing that since the end of 2013-14. 2*750k player sales, 7k average attendance, compo for the manager, the biggest wage earner off the books for a fee, and we're still struggling?

Spending on what?

I have absolutely no idea of what gets spent where but whatever it is it must be cleared by the board and chairman, I can't see any Tom, Dick or Harry having free reign to spend as they wish.

I suppose it will all come out in the wash.

Regarding your second paragraph that's what the CEO should be in charge of..looking foward to our accounts being much healthier when they're published for last season.

I didn't say "unknown", 'SS', I said 'unnamed'.

Well, by me on here, anyway, as requested by the people passing on the rumour (which, by the way, is all it is).

And the cricket?

Pre-game beers and dinner in The Boythorpe, more beers amidst like-minded company in the Park, Derbyshire comfortably beat 'Yarksher' then goods friends and I saw the afternoon out putting the World to rights - and helping the bar staff empty the last barrel - in front of the Pavilion.

So how do you think it was, my friend...
