We'll said, he wouldn't be my first choice but we can't do anything about it. We are doomed before we kick a ball in anger according to some!

You think he'll get us promoted? At the end of the next season?

He's got some big shoes to fill. But were talking about a manager who didn't have a budget at Doncaster until mid-late July, yet still signed the quality required to gain promotion as champions. That was the same season that we signed Sam Hird from them aswell so our budget most probably matched theirs. He came here with Crawley that (ok) lost 3-0 but they were unlucky not to be one up when they had a goal ruled out for offside and they missed a couple of good chances aswell.
I may be clutching at straws a bit but unfortunately this is happening so there's no point in sulking in the corner of the room and just get on with it.
Support the club. I wonder if Brian Flynn will join him again.

As much as I'm disappointed with DS's impending appointment he will get the same support any other manager would have. I think a lot of people's frustration is with the people employing someone with three recent relegations on his CV rather than the man himself.

He might. He might get us relegated, but until he's had a chance we've no way of knowing.

Personally I'd have liked us to take a gamble on an unknown from the Conference or elsewhere, but you can't gamble in L1 like you can in L2 because there's a lot more to lose, so I guess we had to play a bit safe, if that's what we've done.
The only thing you can say about Dean Saunders' record is that it's weird. I take a bit of comfort from the fact that football is a village with lots of contacts, and the general opinion amongst the insiders must be that he's got something. And those insiders are a lot further inside than anybody on here.

We watched John "no goals" Duncan's teams.
Nearly all of us are still immune to negative football.
"Hard to watch" is child's play compared to playing defenders as strikers. :)

My initial reaction has ranged from disbelief to feeling a dull ache in my stomach. The appointments of Shez and Cook excited me, this just confuses me.
But, as you say, we have to get on with it. He had Donny in a great position in this division, and having looked at a couple of Donny sites, though it is a small cross section, by no means all fans commenting didn't like him. Some would have him back tomorrow. Prove us wrong you big leek botherer.

I think Dave Allen and John Ryan are mates. I've certainly heard DA speak very respectfully about him.

Heh-heh-heh, you and your blind faith in those running football clubs, 'h'. As if simply attaining an official position infers an insight denied us mere footballing plebs. And of course they never make mistakes, do they.

But I'm with you to a point - DA's shown remarkable judgement in his hiring and firing thus far. Problem is I could understand Sheridan (his Hillsborough links and achievements at Oldham), and I could understand Cook (Accy's amazing performance at ours' and on such a limited budget).

But I just cannot for the life of me understand Saunders.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

You know you wanna
Here we go again!
