You can't have been supporting Town long then, I think it's time people got a grip, I love my club have renewed my season ticket already and am so glad I did. I am excited at the prospect of a new manager with new players coming in, if it's Dean Saunders so be it he will get my full backing, none of this crucifying him before he has been appointed bull. We have been relegated already in some people's eyes even before next seasons fixtures have been released. Cooky has done a great job but he has orchestrated him own exit, he wanted out for whatever reason, aleagedly they board want him out so what will be will be.
All I know is I will be a Spireite supporting my club no matter who the manager is or what the starting eleven will be.

What's your point? We all will be. That doesn't mean we have to be happy about Dean Saunders getting the gig, should that come to pass.

It's the hierarchy people are rebelling against, they are making a laughing stock of our proud club by getting pushed over by people wanting what we have and losing a lot of money to boot. Surely people getting concerned about the situation are showing that they care deeply about the club and don't want all the hard work Cook has done been dismantled in one summer, minussing the few who just want to moan but every club has them. That doesn't mean anyone has stopped supporting the club though

My point is exactly what I said, being happy or otherwise about any managerial appointment or signing of a player doesn't come into it, I do not get a say in any such matters so I don't let it bother me. One thing I won't be doing is writing off which ever new manager gets the job, simple really.

Im glad youre excited because im definately not. Personally, i dont think we will be in this position again for a very long time, watching our club throw away this chance is absokutely sickening.

How anyone can be happy about the prospect of the team being dismantled puzzles me

Some of them care so much they are insinuating they won't be renewing a season ticket, thick and in and all that. We have been through far worse than this over the years, we just brush ourselves off and go again. Who is to say the next manager won't get us in the playoffs next season ?

It is football I'm afraid, do you not think players like, Morsy,Ryan,Darikwa plus arguably Clucas haven't attracted admirers from other clubs with far more financial muscle than ours. Once a players head is turned they rarely stay put. Who is to say any player will be sold, if Morsy does go hand on heart would we be surprised, he should be in the Championship he is a class act. We do not have the financial clout or a chairman prepared to invest a bottomless pit of money. People need a check on reality, Mr Allen has invested Millions of pounds into our club, given us a phenomenal five seasons, he has also identified two managers who have been successful under him. Who is to say he won't get a third.

Indeed we have, but missing out on the championship (our holy grail) by one game is going to be up there in terms of feelings that have hurt a town fan most in recent times. There will be a lot of hurt out there but people will come around again.

And no one knows about the next manager, may well do well here and it's not fair to judge. But people are looking at the imminent situation. As things stand there is a lot to be concerned about. We're seemingly losing out on OUR assets for below market value or on favourable terms for other teams, we've lost the manager who has transformed us this last few years, and our season has been finished 2 days yet the crows are already massing overhead looking to pick our squad clean of its foundation. For even the most battle hardened spireite it'll be a new type of frustration that we are so close to uncharted territory after all these years and we are seemingly messing it up. It is for me as it's the first time in my years supporting us that we've ever been this high and on a level playing field with the best league 1 have to offer.

I don't know, I might be making excuses. I just feel a lot of people are hurting at the minute but will come back round again soon enough when it's worn off.

This.

Oh and can people stop dropping the 'you've obviously not been supporting town long' thing to other posters. Does it really matter how long me, blue95 or anyone has? We're all town fans and I'm sure the older folk have seen and been through worse but to me personally I agree with blue95 and this is the most down I have ever felt. Sheridan's relegation season was horrendous and we've just had our best season for many many years and yet I feel much worse than that relegation feeling.
We've thrown away something special at this club and a real chance to progress is being scrapped just so DA can get money back in his pockets. I like many will never stop supporting town. I love this club. But like said previous me and many aren't rebelling against the club but the hierarchy and morons running it. We must be an absolute laughing stock to some. CT being the figure in the media doesn't help that image either. He's an utter clown.

But on a more positive note I agree with fitzy, we can have a pint at the Winchester and it will eventually all blow over but for now it's bunkum.

WTF!!!!

So having placed a buyout clause in Cook's contract, we are then going to give another club an interest free loan so they can match that clause, because they can't actually afford it. Crikey, there must be some at the club who really don't rate him as a manager.

Anyway, let's hope the due diligence and credit checks have been done properly because they wouldn't immediately spring to mind as the safest borrower. Unless we've had the foresight to secure it on Fratton Park?!?

Agreed, Mr Turner was keen to tell the world how clever he was to get a buy out clause in Cook's contract, now explain how it's worked out in practice

To be fair to CT, He was in a bit of a position here. Look at his options.

1) Cook resigns after the play offs, saying he has taken CFC as far as he can given the limitations. CFC get nothing. AND have back room staff they don't want and have to pay off.

2) Take the money from Pompey, albeit in stages and CFC get extra money to pay off the rest of the back room staff that don't go to Pompey with PC.

I think if they do it in installments, they will pay more than if they paid the full amount out right, (like paying interest).
Here we go again!
