Indeed we have, but missing out on the championship (our holy grail) by one game is going to be up there in terms of feelings that have hurt a town fan most in recent times. There will be a lot of hurt out there but people will come around again.
And no one knows about the next manager, may well do well here and it's not fair to judge. But people are looking at the imminent situation. As things stand there is a lot to be concerned about. We're seemingly losing out on OUR assets for below market value or on favourable terms for other teams, we've lost the manager who has transformed us this last few years, and our season has been finished 2 days yet the crows are already massing overhead looking to pick our squad clean of its foundation. For even the most battle hardened spireite it'll be a new type of frustration that we are so close to uncharted territory after all these years and we are seemingly messing it up. It is for me as it's the first time in my years supporting us that we've ever been this high and on a level playing field with the best league 1 have to offer.
I don't know, I might be making excuses. I just feel a lot of people are hurting at the minute but will come back round again soon enough when it's worn off.
This.
Oh and can people stop dropping the 'you've obviously not been supporting town long' thing to other posters. Does it really matter how long me, blue95 or anyone has? We're all town fans and I'm sure the older folk have seen and been through worse but to me personally I agree with blue95 and this is the most down I have ever felt. Sheridan's relegation season was horrendous and we've just had our best season for many many years and yet I feel much worse than that relegation feeling.
We've thrown away something special at this club and a real chance to progress is being scrapped just so DA can get money back in his pockets. I like many will never stop supporting town. I love this club. But like said previous me and many aren't rebelling against the club but the hierarchy and morons running it. We must be an absolute laughing stock to some. CT being the figure in the media doesn't help that image either. He's an utter clown.
But on a more positive note I agree with fitzy, we can have a pint at the Winchester and it will eventually all blow over but for now it's bunkum.
