I bet he'd stay if a board takeover was in the pipeline
I don't really think Cook deep down wants to go (not to Portsmouth anyway), but it very much sounds like bridges have been burnt on both sides.

That's the most upsetting thing about it, you can imagine things going downhill very quickly in terms of the club's relationship with the fans once Cook has gone

well if cookie is going....or more to the point when cook's gone....i don't doubt for 1 minute that he won't be here next season.....i wonder if mr allen has his eye on another up and coming manager that few would give a second thought too, lets face it paul cook was hardly the top of anyones shopping list last time.....so come uncle dave....find us another rough diamond.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Sure won't, the credit and goodwill generated by appointing Cook in the first place will be lost by the expected manner of his departure

There was a huge element of fortune involved in the appointment of Cook. Accy's record at that point wasn't up to much; that evening at the Proact was where the meeting of two minds came together, pure chance and nothing more. I imagine some useless has-been will take over this summer.

Allen's record on managers has been excellent so far - and insisting they play attractive football.

Names in the frame: Hill, Tisdale, and based on a tip from a mate in the North West - Phil Neville.

To be fair, Chris; he's only appointed one....
As I've stated before, why would Hill come, likewise Phil Neville? If quality players are to leave and the budget cut, what's the point?

Hill because he gets a bigger budget, bigger crowds, gets to manage better players, play better football and Neville cos he needs to start somewhere (hopefully not here, though...)

He made reasonable appointments at Wednesday, Sturrock for one, but none as successful as Cook

Yes, mate, but it's marginal and IMO he's done better at Dale than Cook has here (all things considered). I'd have him no problem but I doubt he'd come.

I don't think Hill will be daft enough to jump out of the chip pan into the fire again. He'll bide his time for the right appointment as he will never get the shove from dale, or he'll simply let his contract run down and mull over the offers of employment. Just my take

Agreed, not looking forward to next season (unless Cookie can get us into the promised land). Come on Paul, you owe us that much
