I posted this the other week, guys it's time to open our eyes, like others have now said this was done weeks ago....it's just about waiting until after the play-offs etc...

In that video posted, you can see he puts his hand out as if to say don't mention it when mark Halsey starts to mention cook leaving, then like someone else says he gets flushed as air he's forgot the official line etc.

The reason why Cook went out on the odds the others day is the potential interest from derby, then straight back in when they realised mclaren doesn't want the Newcastle job and is staying put.....

The bookies aren't wrong and 1/10 is about a certain as it gets in these things.

PT spelt it out the other week and people still won't accept it....

If I'm wrong then fair play I will be one of the happiest on here....however 99percent he's gone...just face up to it.

It's being kept quiet so that the club and players and management can focus on the task at hand and I hope we go up if we did I'd target the Brentford manager.

Can't accept that PT spelt it out at all in his posting

My take and it's only speculation on my part is that this less to do with budgets and more DA's determination to get as much of his money back as possible by selling Morsy, Clucas et al in the summer rather than re-investing the proceeds

That wouldn't surprise me at all, actually and if correct, it's even more sinister. My brother in law, who is a Wednesday fan, has been warning me about this happening, ever since DA took the reins. Needless to say, I've always poured scorn on his comments up to now.
..... I would never live it down, if it turns out he was bl@@dy well right !!!

Edit: Thinking about what you said there Moondog, it would explain an awful lot with regard to PC maybe wanting out and I have to say, I wouldn't blame the guy. After all, how could any manager work with his hands tied like that !?

Fair viewpoint. I still think that js got a raw deal from cfc, and us fans. I think he could have turned it around. To be honest though, the biggest changes needed were with the youth set up and centre of excellence, which PC has effected, with full support of CT and DA.

We have no material evidence this has happened yet

1/10 is about as close as it gets on these to shutting the book. No one would touch that price without inside info surely and even then it's hardly worth the risk.

Bookies shut the book and paid out on tommy wright becoming the next town manager after sheridan left. We can live in hope!

Is cook a good coach or a lower league harry redknapp..food for thought? Because if he goes he will rape our squad of players, ryan raglan i reckon roberts will have a last decent payday.

I feel uncomfortable casting aspersions on PC until his leaving is a published fact. If that happens, then I'll see how I feel then. Disappointed no doubt, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

The story I heard is that Dave Allen wants out. As for Cook not at all happy with budget restraints and has alienated the board.
Was told its was not definitely Pompey but his agent was "busy".(looking for a job for him)

Once again this might be true or it may be tripe, we shall see, Mr Tooley seems to allude to some of it.

One things for sure the timing stinks!!

I agree, more to this than cook leaving. It seems they no longer share the same ambition. Cook going to derby I can understand, but to pompey. I can only assume, promotion or not ,Mr Allen is looking to get his money back, one way or another after realising the club is losing money left, right and centre.

IMO Allen has looked at how much more he would have to invest now we are closer to the promised land than he thought we would be and now wants out

He was okay talking the talk about wanting Championship football when it was a more distant dream than it is now but I think he now does not wants the reality to hit home

Cook of course will realise this and wants out because of the lack of ambition at this crucial time

It's bee the worst kept secret ever and when we should be talking about the play offs it's all cook. Terrible timing and it isn't doing us any favours that's for sure

What about all the millions a club gets when in the Championship!
2 seasons in there, and we would be debt free.

If you want to make money in the Championship, assume one season only.

Can you give us an example of what Mr Tooley alludes to?. Other than 'Save your cash, he's going nowhere' that is.

Good point, I am not convinced that people know as much about Cook's future as they like to make out.

no matter what anyone says there is no loyalty in football - except from fans

more ridiculous over reactions on here

all managers and players are doing it for a job, if they think they can get a better job elsewhere then they will go for it - as most of us would in our line of work

no matter what the summer holds PC and the players will want a Wembley promotion on their CVs and they have got us so far so should be allowed to finish the season without people mardying about wanting him to go now etc etc

would have thought PC could do better than Pompey but there is no denying that it is an attractive job for any manager, big fanbase, big budget for league 2 and the potential to move through the leagues should off field problems be finally sorted

people will always look after themselves and their careers first and so they should - it is a weird position for us to be in for other clubs to actively want to take our manager from us

we should all simply be happy to have had our best season in over 30 years, still have the chance of promotion, to have watched some fantastic football and very good players and whatever happens in the summer happens - if PC goes then hopefully someone takes over who can carry on the good work

enjoy the play offs and leave the moaning until there is something to moan about

There are fans at their end who say they havent yet found the money to pay off management they have sacked. Some of the rumours going around conflict so wildly it's best to just wait and see.
