So. If were operating at a profit, everything is starting to smell like roses why does there appear to be so much doom & gloom coming out of the club?

I still don't think we are operating at a profit.
If you were to take away the sales of Cooper and Doyle from the balance sheet, it might have a different appearance.
Hence the warnings from Tooley and Fisher. (among others)

There's been none at Derby either since it was suggested their manager was on his way to Newcastle and it didn't affect their end of season since either

Not a rumour it's a fact.
If we fail to get promoted the budget will be exactly the same as this season.
However if we're promoted there will be a 75% increase.

But will part of the budget be eaten up by player wage increases and bonuses like this yrs.....

Mmm, Skybet has Cook at 4/11 and Allen at 9/4. I just wish someone would come out and put this issue to bed, what a boost that would be for the playoff campaign

Surely the key question is how much of that has gone to repay debt?
If talk of addressing last years' deficit was accurate, and Cooper and Doyle were sacrificed to make a large hole in what's owed to Allen and Co, then great, we're making progress.
However if they were flogged off 'cos cash is still haemorrhaging from the Proact...

well the wage bill wont have gone down by much, if at all. I don't know what the bonus structure is, but the players would surely get one for finishing in the play offs.
IMO its obvious - we are in the black for this season because we sold £1.5million of players and re invested 85k. A good amount from the cup run as well. another couple of hundred grand.
If the accounts show a profit of less than £1million (minimum) we know the financial situation at cfc is still a concern.
