Tell him not to look at the Pompey messageboard then.

That's a good point a fair percentage of Pompey fans are so far up themselves it's not true. They seem to think they are too big for a manager of such humble stock.

An interesting comment on Radio Solent this morning. They played a snatch of an interview with Andy Awford, recently sacked Pompey manager, who is obviously still feeling aggrieved. Said he felt he felt should have been given more time, but he was sacked because the target was a top six finish this season. Rather tellingly, he then said he was never told that was the target and if he had been he wouldn't have taken the job (he was previously head of development or something similar and had a good reputation within the Club). An interesting management style by the board, and perhaps something Mr. Cook should weigh up.

The full interview here, well worth Cookie listening too as it's clear they don't have the right infrastructure in place for him to succeed, which has cheered me up

Awford sounds a right plonker  though, Cookie' would sail through an interview compared to him. Made me laugh when he said he'd got the 2nd best win percentage after Harry Rednapp seemingly oblivious his wins were in the basement

They sound very unorganised. Not sure of the full situation but if he is trying to run the whole club and not even having any scouts until 6 weeks ago.. Sounds very odd. It's almost like the board just employ the manager and just let him get on with it with no clear structure in place. The facilities are not good etc.. Good luck to PC. If he goes there. Sometimes you need a look around a place of work to see if you get the feeling you like it.. If it was a house Pompey is a derelict mansion. Bills coming put if it's bottom, heating is knackered, dry rot everywhere and it's got subsidence. And that's before you have the survey!

The more this drags on, the more I am convinced this isn't about Pompey.

If it was, and Cook wanted to go there he could have instructed his agent to "informally" sort out T+C, say nothing to anyone and then resign once the season was over, citing CFC budgets as the reason. Job done. Pompey the same, say nothing, wait for Cook to finish here and that's that.

Forget all the gossip, BS & innuendo, this is an attempt to restructure Chesterfield Football Club, financially.

Hopefully, I am loathe to admit, we have a Russian Oligarch waiting in the wings. Goodbye to worries about where did the odd million go.

Indeed. The gamble is will this significantly reduce matchday income? 7000 can so easily become 6000

The "business model", such as it is, was flawed. How can you base your expenditure on record income levels, and not "average" income levels? You leave no room for error, and will always be on the edge of that financial cliff.

I cant help but think that under "ma" hubbard and Carol W we wouldn't have lost £1,000,000+ in a promotion season.....and been surprised when the accounts showed this loss.

A new hope.

Well, given there are four main political parties at the moment all trying to convince people to vote for them on the back of what they haven't said, I would think what someone doesn't say is just as relevant.

Good grief, I must have got a problem counting with my fingers. Four main political parties! I can think of three but a fourth.....nah! Not on my reckoning.

Reading the fans forum minutes, were saving £180,000 a year on IT, the development centre is running at a great profit, were at 4,400 St sales hoping to achieve 5,000 and were having a reserve team next season.

Give cook what he needs to take this team to the next level in our development!!
Here we go again!

If not playing a team in the reserve league gave Cook a bigger budget which would be the best option?

Could someone please explain to this plain speaking simpleton, what the hidden messages within this Machiavellian statement were?.

Or perhaps there weren't any.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
