depends what Cooks motives are.
Increase in budget, more success and a better performance in the league, Cooks stock is even higher and clubs much bigger than Pompey will be knocking on the door.
if it all goes pear shaped and he doesn't get what he wants, he goes to Pompey and starts again....win win for Cook?

Cook now 1/4 again from 2/7
Allen out to 7/2 from 10/11
Brown now 8/1 from around 25/1 I think he was.
Not that it matters cos I think cooks done all but sign on the dotted line and waiting to see if we go up.

If he has shown that intent, if we go up, the first thing I'd do if I was DA is sack him.

If he took us up and kept us up it would outstrip anything he could do at Pompey to get others knocking on his door. He will be expected to deliver at Pompey and nothing less than continued success would be acceptable

"It's not about Paul Cook and any club that would be interested in him," Cook, 48, told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"It's about this club getting to the play-offs.
"I've had the best two and half years of my life and long may it continue."
Yes .... That's what he said .... "and long may it continue"
I'm sick of reading all the negativity on here about this subject and I for one am determined not to let all the conjecture affect my enjoyment of the next three games .... And let's all hope it's FOUR games, with yet ANOTHER ! trip to wembley. We are lucky to have PC as our manager .....
AND LONG MAY IT CONTINUE !!!
So, if you want to spoil your enjoyment of the next three or four games, just carry on talking shee-ite as long as you want ..... I'm going to enjoy the ride and give the team AND Paul Cook my support in the best way I can .... after all, I'm just a supporter !

another little prompt then.......Biggs gets fed info from inside the club, or rather, gets fed info the club want out I the public domain.....If he doesn't go to Pompey, they are basically advertising his "availability" and the clubs willingness to let him go for the fee

Cook could be all the negativity -and speculation to help the club achieve their dream with one simple statement. "Im not going to Portsmouth or anywhere else any time soon. I'm committed to Chesterfield and I'm going to finish the job I've started. Together lets get our club promoted"

Paul Cook is doing the right thing by saying nothing. The fact is that any statement he made would be misconstrued by some & as he has said you can't stop the wheels of football turning. He could quite easily say I'm going nowhere only to get an offer he simply can't refuse. Best to stay silent and avoid any potential traps that so many are waiting for him to walk into.

But he can say it privately to Portsmouth allowing them to look elsewhere, a week on there are no indications that has happened, which creates the demand for him to clarify his position over this particular interest in his services

Ok he could narrow it down and say "I'm not interested in going to Portsmouth"
