Martin Allen now the favorite @ 1/2 with Cookie now 6/4 and Phil Brown at 10/1

Looking slightly more promising!

Great news! Let's hope Cook hasn't been too peed off by recent events and stays with us for a while, whichever division we end up in.
These go to eleven.

If cooks our manager for the first game next season, should we be giving a bit of credit to Chris turner?

It seems the Martin Allen story came from the current caretaker, Gary Waddock, expressing his admiration for Allen and saying he'd be a good choice, so alas, perhaps not the strongest recommendation as the Pompey fans seem not to rate Waddock and want rid- Waddock seemed to be saying "Give my mate the job" so as his own job would be safe.

I notice Warnock's odds came in and then out again- Redknapp is surely a decent outside bet if Cook goes elsewhere (Derby?) or (fingers and balls crossed) stays. Redknapp sure ain't leaving his pad in Sandbanks, and he came back to Pompey once already- if they draw a blank on Cook, stranger things have happened than Arry turning up there again, probably 'upstairs', though it's more likely he'll get a role with Bournemouth now, using his Premier League contacts to sign up a few expensive mercenaries.

Think that's a bridge too far for him atm. But if Clough fails to get Sheff U up via the play offs might that be a possible destination?

@BroadcastMoose: In the last hour Martin Allen has gone 2 to 1 ON for the vacancy at Portsmouth - he is now clear favourite
Edit - sorry, just read above. My bad

There are good drunks and bad drunks.

Some blokes are "a-ok" then turn into knob heads when they've had a couple of snifters.

Well Mr M`Gee, the drinkers we tried to have a conversation (about our football clubs tactics) with in the Mow exhibited a distinct lack of class.

Quite the eye opener wasn't it?

Everybody saying it's all gone quiet so he must be off, but it could be just the fact that we've said no to Portsmouth and they're now looking at other options. Just because we've been approached by another club, it doesn't mean Cook actually has to go.

Do you really think Cooky and his backroom staff want to be bombarded with questions from armchair johnny come lately fans all the time when they are out trying to enjoy a quiet pint?

Ive seen two sides to Cooky when hes out and about - the jocular, chatty version and the 'cant be bothered with this' version - I don't blame him for the second option now and again TBF.

Mad Dog is the perfect fit for Pompey

He's their fans choice
They are a fans owned club so they listen to their fan base
He is experienced in the lower division and they claim that's what they want
He rarely lasts a year at a club
Portsmouth rarely keep a manager for more than a year
They wont have to raid the piggy bank for compo

All said and done he is their obvious choice

I was thinking exactly the same TF

The only explanation if he isn't going to Pompey is that he's using them for his own gain (still not convinced).
