Been told today that cook has told the players he's off as the club do not match his ambitions......

If that was true then Cook will go down in my estimation. This will really demotivate the players at a crucial time of the year.

I don't think the players are thick.

They are perfectly placed to make their own minds up.

Well Cook did say something along those lines in a radio interview, with the difference being 'IF' it ever got to the point where the club's ambitions didnt match his! So I am struggling to believe he would change his mind a week later and commit to pompey whilst he still has a chance of managing in the championship with a potentially much bigger budget and personal salary!

If we don't get promoted then obviously all bets are off and I could see him leaving for a bigger club.... but would expect him to do better than Portsmouth tbh!

We shall see....

He did go in to 1/5 on oddschecker the other day but I'm not sure where..you're right Skybet has had him at 1/3 for a while

Probably time for senior pro's like Evo and Roberts to step up to the plate and rally the troops, the incentive of a Wembley final should be enough to motivate the players, over and above Cookies actions.

If he wants to go let him go, the king is dead, long live the king.

As an aside Chris S, does your footer mean what I think it means?

No chance that Cookie is that unprofessional or divisive - or would want to unsettle the team at this stage of the season

Or hint in interview that Pompey have every right to talk who they want to now, not after the season end, and tell all and sundry in various hostelries how drunk off he is. My worry is that virtually every post on here regarding the Portsmouth link has initially been ridiculed, and then turned out to be a lot nearer the mark than for comfort.

I'd be surprised if the players didn't have today off especially with many of them being at the PFA awards last night

No. I am saying, as a large number of posters have posted, he has a tendency not to keep his own counsel.

I was just about to say the same. Along with that he hasn't got a footballing brain either which certainly would make him look like a fish out of water
Tendayi for me has one good position (the one he occupies and one that would do as a stop gap (right wing), though I wouldn’t be very keen for this to go on too long as he can never decide when he should run at players or not and he never beats the first man with a cross. As a wingback this is fine as on the whole he defends well and makes some very crucial late interceptions, but any other position?? Not for me I’m afraid.

Let's choose to differ regarding the positions he can, or could, play in but how you can actually say a guy who has hardly missed a minute on the pitch this season and has already won 2 POS awards for his efforts "hasn't got a footballing brain" I don't know.

Other than that I thought it good to actually turn our attentions to discussing "football" rather than "rumour" which, quite frankly, I am sick of - if PC goes he goes and it will be his loss - I'm more interested in us doing well in the play-offs and, hopefully, yet another visit to Wembley - it's our turn to win there this time!
