The BBC news just had a report on sexism in football

Guess what Caroline Radford was held up as an example of it due to the abuse she suffered without any explanation of the circumstances

Perhaps the opposite view should be taken, a trophy wife installed without any qualification as a football club CEO as evidence of sexism

Totally ruined a report into what is a valid concern when officials get abused

any women wanting to make her way in business or football should see the Orange Trout at Mansfield as a disgrace and something that puts their cause back years

basically sleeping with an aold rich man and getting a good job and plenty of pennies out of it, sort of thing that makes people question how women get top jobs

No. Asking "Sweet cheeks" to get you your halftime cuppa and no dawdling, giving her a slap on her a*se as she turns around is sexist. Giving somebody a job when they don't have any qualifications to do it then training them up is an apprentiship. She is his apprentice in the daytime and probably his dominatrix in the evening.
It's just the BBC doing the stiff upper lip thing again.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Funnily enough I heard this article on 'Woman's Hour' (don't ask - and that is a really sexist programme!). The trout came across very badly indeed, barely coherent, mumbling and stuttering through the most generous interview she'll ever have. No mention was made of her lifestyle choices before being given the job, or, indeed, the unusual interview process. The BBC should really be ashamed of themselves for letting their standards slip so low, I thought they had a legal obligation to impartiality, well, the certainly showed none in the programme today. Truly shocking use of our license fees.

Hate is a very strong word imo. To hate someone because they merely irritate you is very strange indeed. You don't have a shotgun licence do you?

You're right-perhaps it's not hate- she does make me do a little sick in my mouth though when I think of her smug face

Tbh , and im not saying this lightly , but why should she be pilloried for a previous lifestyle..im sure most folk have skeletons in their closet. Whatever the reasons why she appeared to get the job, and that's the thing, "appeared" she now seems to be a part of a loving family environment .. Fair play to her for sorting herself out and getting on with her life.
For me the reason I ridicule her is due to the football team she helps run..nothing else.

There isn't much difference between him giving her a job or you giving your mate a job; gender shouldn't come into it. Personally, I know nothing of their relationship, how they got together, what they are like at home, etc; however, he gave her the job, so, if there is any 'blame' to be found, it has to lay at his door and not hers. How it puts 'their cause back years', I'll leave that one for you to explain, because what you are suggesting is highly sexist...and offensive, every word; and, just further exacerbates the issue.

It puts their cause back as surely women in high up positions want to be viewed as getting there on merit, not because of who they marry

You've only got to look at the recent world wide financial collapse to see that virtually every man in those top jobs was probably there due to secret handshakes and being part of the in crowd rather than on merit..reaching the top of the tree in any profession can nearly always be down to who you know rather than how capable you are, it's hardly a "woman thing"!
