Sean Taylor @seantaylorpress
Hear there's possibility of new arrival @ChesterfieldFC. Not saying it definitely is, but a name put to me is Paul Corry @swfc

@seantaylorpress:
I understand @ChesterfieldFC tried to get Paul Corry on loan but @swfc blocked the move

Morsy is under contract. Folk seem to forget that in less than 35 days time, Jimmy Ryan could sign a pre-contract and we'll lose him for nowt. I'm baffled that nowt's been done, but CFC's stance has got to be deliberate.

Unless it's Ryan's choice, not CFC's?

I thought that I had read, a couple of months or so ago, that the club had commenced talks with both Ryan and Lee about extending their contracts.

I have heard nothing since about whether or not any progress has been made though.

Not sure about Lee (he is signed until 2016 as far as I can see) but I recall there being word of opening talks with Jimmy over a contract extension. As you say its all gone very quiet.
My take is that such talks have run onto the rocks, and Jimmy is keeping his options open, which probably means he is looking to move on. Will we look to sell him in January?

Ryan could only sign a pre contract to move abroad in January can't he?

Generally those moving within England don't sign pre contracts until April/may time. I thought they could only talk to foreign clubs in Jan.

No, a player in the last 6 months of his deal is free to talk to any club regarding a contract from end of his current one, and is free to sign a pre contracts agreement.

It's hardly ever publicised as it would be undermine the club and the player for the rest of the season

Edit: "The Bosman ruling meant that players could move to a new club at the end of their contract without their old club receiving a fee. Players can now agree a pre-contract with another club for a free transfer if the players' contract with their existing club has six months or less remaining."

I don't understand the preoccupation with pre-contracts in Ryan's case?

Most players who decide not to resign when their contracts are up wait and see what is available.

Apart from no news of a contract extension, is there a rumour regarding his departure?
