So that's 5 million for Morsy and 2.5 million for Doyle we reckon we are getting on here, lol what debt problem we've sorted it

if Doyle carries on scoring then he will be worth much more than Morsy - at the moment Doyle is the most valuable player at the club, simply due to his scoring record

teams always pay a premium for goal scorers

I know it sounds like a lot of money but if a L1 25 goal a season man is worth £6 million (Assombalonga) and Championship 25 goal a season players are worth £8-11 million (Rhodes and McCormack) then I don't think we would be asking the earth at £2.5 million for Doyle

Never thought I'd see the day when we can genuinely talk about one of our players being worth this much money - seems mad

If he has 25 by the the time the window opens, which is perfectly plausible, then the sheer weight of goals will force his value up to the 1.5m mark. Someone in the Championship will pay that no bother.

Exactly.

In whatever capacity his visit may've been, he was more than happy to engage with everyone that spoke to him.

In his latter years at Bournemouth (before even joining us!), he would often be a sub and be warming up in front of the old Saltergate Wing Stand and would become friendly
engaged (banter!) with the home crowd. It was kind off strange how he eventually ended up playing for us.

It's not just goalscoring with Doyle...his overall contribution, movement, running off the ball....he is a player that teams are very wary of now & he is still scoring the goals!
Last season he split supporters opinions of his ability...but he showed it in glimpses last season, a step up in class just shows how good he is!

Remember, he is still relatively young still...he (unfortunately for us to lose him) will go for a lot of money & wouldn't be surprised if it is in January....Doyle is also very close to a call up for Ireland...don't be surprised if he is picked for their squad when they play a 'lesser' team.

Cook's next challenge...........finding another gem to act as a replacement!!...which i'm sure the excellent scouting currently in place will make that happen.

Aaron O'connor would do nicely on that showing.... pace power finishing

With Doyle the only regular goal getter I wonder how we would fayre securing our Div 1 status if he went.
