We set the tone for our shambolic defensive display within 30 seconds of the game kicking off. Ball cut back from the right to their lad on the edge of the box and not a single blue shirt with 10 yards of him. Luckily he blazed it over the bar but we didn't take the warning. Their first goal was schoolboy defending. We had been given a warning only a couple of minutes earlier with their lad breaking from midfield, completely unchallenged, drawing a foul on the edge of the box. Two minutes later, same break, same lack of presence in our midfield, same challenge after he's run 40 yards( and it was a foul imo ), only difference they score. I actually felt relived to come away on the back of a 3-0 scoreline because that could quite easily have been 6 or 7.
