Managed to arrange work in Blackpool next Tuesday/Wednesday quite conveniently to get to the Preston game.
Can anyone recommend any pubs or parking near deep dale?

Parking isn't an issue from memory. Pubs are more of a problem. When I went we ended up walking half a mile up the road to some grotty boozer and wished we hadn't bothered.

As you get near the ground there is a big retail park on the right. I've always parked in there and never had any problems

Last time i went to Deepdale i ended up parking & drinking at a Bowls or WM club just round the corner from the ground. No idea if its still there (it must be 10 years ago at least) but i recall it being quite handy.

It's a while since I've been, but there used to be a pub not far away called the garrison, it looked hard from the outside but was pleasant enough.

Looking on Google Street View to check the name of the one we ended up in - it was this place - it appears to be boarded up (Oct '12).

Probably for the best.

Cracking ground I think, really like it. Looking forward too this one - Davies and Davies up top for Preston worries me though - would hate them to score against us but reckon they'll get a good reception from the town fans.

Davies and Davies? Kev is mostly a sub now and Craig plays for Bolton.

One Davies is back at Bolton. The other will probably be on the bench at best.

Its Garner I would be worried about.

Least that is one less thing to worry about. Wasn't sure where Craig was if i'm honest, seems to have dropped off the radar a bit.

Indeed. I have no fears about Evo handling any of the big boys. It's little cunning b'stards like Garner, McSheffery, and Madden that worry me. I hope the new CH has lots of pace.

Last time I went we went in Toy Soldier on Deepdale Retail Park ..About 10 mins walk from ground....

As you approach the ground the Retail Prak is in the right

Ample side street parking

When I went it was first game of season ...about 1245 kick off live on Sky ... Must have been well in to Nineties degrees

Happy Days I actually preferred the Championship for a number of reasons

Jeez... Just checked it was 2003 ! Pub might not even be there !
THEY FLY SO HIGH , NEARLY REACH THE SKY , AND LIKE MY DREAMS THEY FADE AND DIE

I've always used the fire station car park on your left about 1/4m from the ground. Safe parking and the monies to a good cause...Firedodger excluded of course! :o

According to Chesterfield FC website tickets for Preston are still on sale till Monday lunchtime. Went to ticket office today and was told they weren't selling Preston tickets and I would have to get them on Tuesday at the ground.

i think it's standard practice for us not to sell tickets for other games on a matchday

If you go on Google street view for the Traffic lights next to the parking at the Aldi store near the Deepdale Stadium, Firedodger and Bonnyman can be seen on their way to the match!
