I must have dreamt near every hierarchy member of our club promising to push on the season after next and go for championship football, apologies.

I think the word you're grasping wildly for is 'intention' not 'promise'....

Who's happy? As the previous poster said there's been way worse times than this. We support the club. Rain or shine. Ups and downs, and accept the pain that goes with that. If you've got the monk on about your 340 quid then you're not quite as bought into this fan thing as you think you are.....

Being a fan doesnt mean you should expect to be shat on. I dont think its unreasonable for fans to expect the club to strengthen the playing staff appropriately for a higher level of football. The club will, through extra ST sales, away fans, concourse revenue etc have greater income than before and to not invest extra money in players is a kick in the goolies for the fans; a short-sighted policy that could end up costing the club dearly. Far fewer fans will fall for this again. Btw who are the directors who are not pulling their weight?

It is unreasonable if the money's not there. What we need an explanation of is why it's not there. Until that time we can't comment with any degree of accuracy can we? Re other directors - everyone but DA as far as it seems....
By the way fans will fall for if again.....that's what happens.....2011 then 2014 being evidence.

We're a little club. It's a fact. Why does that mean we can't achieve a bit higher?! I don't see your point.

because you appear not to want a budget that a little club can finance

Fans have responded with a 20% increase in STs. Presumably the club has their money. If CT has dropped an almighty bollok in his financial planning thats not the fans' fault. The commitment of the fans should be honoured by the club, and if that means by DA so be it. Who appointed CT? Imo the fans wont be fooled thrice.

Your the only person I've known actually remember Derek walker!!!,I mentioned him once before on another thread and nobody seemed to remember him.
He for me was the worst(footballer?) to wear a town shirt.

I saw Derek's last minute "winner" away at Brentford, before they equalised in the 95th minute..Jim brown was our keeper...beat that!

I asked the question of in the long term would it not be worth it?
3 additions, max. 1 marquee (Higdon).
It's not asking TOO much. If our budget wasn't the same/lower than last season this could be easily achieved.

The short term loss on the finance part would in my opinion make for a long term profit. It's a small risk but one that would guarantee more bums on seats for one and more excitement going into next season.
If you're not prepared to take a risk you're never going to get anywhere. Our club never seems to be prepared to take that risk.

Look at Rotherham. Fair enough it might bite them in the bottom but then again it might not.
As much as we bring them down they are now playing championship football.
Something that myself and probably every chesterfield fan dreams of witnessing.

Who said anything about anyone being happy? No fker is happy

You have been spoilt with success and fast changing times at town in recent years and you think stamping your feet like the proverbial kid in a sweetshop, saying you've wasted your money on a season ticket etc will change things. It won't

Since when has being a season ticket holder at town been just about winning?

Yes it's going to be hard next year and we may be battling against the odds, but it time to grow a pair and get behind them come what may. If you going to be moaning all the time you may be better off actually asking for your money back, as I'm sure they will give it you and leave the rest of us to get on with it.

What a post..top man

DA has done his bit, the fans have done there bit. Unless someone else is ready to do their bit as well then that's all we can do.

Wasn't that on New Year's Day and the ref played oodles of extra time when none was warranted. I remember being very fed up on the way home

lets say Higdon is on 4k a week, and the 2 others on 2 k a week. - that's almost 1/2 a million quid - and that's a hell of a lot of money to spend over our budget
A new hope.

As would I. But like I say for now, DA has done an awful lot for us and invested lots of money, he's the last person people can start blaming for the lack of money. And likewise the fans have also done their bit with increased ST sales.

So where does that leave us? Major shareholder and fans have done their bit, maybe we just have to accept the budget we have and try and use it more wisely in future as opposed to just asking the top man for more.
